23rd - 29th May - Pledge your points!
Hello Everyone and Welcome, This is week 3 and we are continuing with this fun way of catching up with exercise. This thread is for everyone who needs motivation and encouragement to get moving and to help make us accountable to ourselves and one another. The Plan is to draw up a new thread each week, running from Sunday to Saturday. You are awarded "Points" for exercise and everyone works to their own ability. You get 1 Point for every 10 minutes of exercise. You choose whatever activity you wish. Each week you pledge your points on board - making a committment to achieve them, and then you strive all week to achieve your own goal. You keep your own score and at the end of the week you must let us all know just how well you did. Hopefully, this will be FUN! We are looking for EVERYONE to join in, so come on and Pledge your points!

Hello All, Great to see you are all doing so well. The good news is that any type of activity counts- work or play! 10 minutes of any type of sustained activity = 1 point It's a double bonus to get your yard work done or the dogs walked or to just have fun. Keep up the good work and log back in here on Saturday to let us all know what worked for you, or what didn't as the case may be. I aim to walk my little dogs every day. They enjoy it so much, I should learn from them. Booklean

Hi, I am keeping my goal of 15 Points this week. I found it quite difficult last week so it will be a challenge. Wannalise. What kind of a dog have you? Does he need much walking? I have 2 little dogs, a chihuahua and a papillon and we all enjoy the walks. Hopefully they are in for a real treat this Summer!

9-15 May - Pledge your Points!
Hi Stacey, You are well on your way. Only another 110 minutes of activity to clock up before Saturday night. I am just back from a 45 minute walk, where I will be awarding myself 4.5 points. I really should be able to walk this distance in approx 35 minutes, but I did my best, and get the extra points for being slow! What's nice about this is that we chose Our own activity, work at our own pace and select our own goals. So keep up the good work, Booklean

What are you doing to get moving today?
Hi MiniMe, Thanks for starting this thread, I really need something like this to get me motivated. I have an idea which I would like to add to yours, I hope it will inspire everyone to exercise at their own potential. What I suggest is this:- We adopt a point system and each person choses the number of points they wish to aim for, and then commit to achieving that number of points for the week. 10 minutes of doing any type of exercise = 1 Point. What do others think? Would anyone like to join in? We could start a new thread at the beginning of each week if necessary. Would love to get moving! Booklean

Hooray I'm sleeved!!
Hi Lyn, Welcome home! Yes, I agree with you- They are really great in Belgium. I had a wonderful experience there too, and I would most certainly recommend them. I am so glad I went there. Very efficient and so so friendly. I am just a week ahead of you, and lost 7lbs the first week and 4 lbs the second. I am pleased with that. I am actually enjoying the food, maybe a little too much. I am eating 70 grams protein per day but seem to be consuming 600-800 KCals per day, mostly around the 700. The very best of Good Luck to you, Keep in touch, Booklean

5% of 1%?
Figures and % are v interesting. Could it really be true that 1% of the population are sleeved or have any kind of weight loss surgery? That seems alot. Also, could it be possible that a higher than average % of athetists are obese compared to believers? Could it be possible that athetists who are overweight/obese are more likely to do something about it? Anyway, congrats for being 1 in a million!

April 2010 Sleevers!
Good Morning Everyone, Good to hear from you all. I am also pleased with my progress although it seems a lot less than anyone else. I suppose it is important to learn from the very beginning that we are all different and will repond differently as to how we shed this weight. I am on day 13 but am calling it week 2 as I have decided to make Sunday my weekly weigh-in. The first week I lost 7 lbs, and last week I lost a further 4 lbs. My abdomen was initially very distended and I was unable to wear any of my normal clothes, but now I am back to approx normal. Despite having lost that 11 lbs I cannot notice where the weight has come off. I did not do a pre-op diet. I am making home made soups and supplementing them with unflavoured protein powder. I like those OK. I am also drinking flavoured protein shakes and beginning to detest them all. I love scrambled eggs mixed with cottage cheese, custard with pureed apple or indeed any fruit and also porridge supplemented with the protein powder. This week I intend to cook turkey and chicken and liquidise it with the soup instead of the protein powder. I am getting my 70 grams protein per day and also varying between 500 and 800 KCals per day. I love to drink tea and herbal teas to get my fluid as I sometimes find cold water hard to drink. I am still tired and like to have a nap during the day. This post is getting long so I will continue writing in another one. Booklean

April 2010 Sleevers!
Hi Roja, I am on pureed foods and enjoying my food well enough. I am also drinking protein shakes. I intend to weigh myself every Sunday morning only. I think 20 lbs is good....I know you think you have stalled, but I have never lost 20lbs in any month. My abdomen is still swollen and my trousers are still too tight. I am napping alot throughout the day. Otherwise I am good. booklean

April 2010 Sleevers!
Hi Everyone, Although it is now May, I am starting this thread as I didn't see one for April yet. I had my surgery 26th April so I barely fit into this month. Anyone who has had their surgery in April 2010 is welcome to come and share their journey on this thread. I thought it might be nice to journey alongside others who are more or less encountering the same issues. Looking forward to hearing from you all. I have changed my name from Bookleen to Booklean!
