  1. Well I must say I am curious to know if I am the only one that loses slowly even with the band. Its been 4 months since surgery and I am 30 lbs down. I feel like I should be losing faster because I see others with less time since surgery with more weight loss.I feel that I am doing great because to me losing is better than gaining. If i lose 2 lbs its better than gaining it lol
  2. Anyone who has military affiliation know if tricare will cover this?

    Port Area Pain = Paranoia?

Congrats on the surgery..and I can tell you I am 4 months out and my port site is still very tender. I talked to my Dr. about this and she has the band. She said that even after a few years her port can be sensitive from time to time. If it really starts to bother you talk to your Dr.

    I got Approved Today!!!

My Pre-Op diet was a strict protein shake diet. I had 3 shakes a day to replace the meals..at dinner I could have a veggie or salad with no dressings. Every Dr. is different so yours might have a few different things. The purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink the fatty liver and make the surgery easier to do.

    Unsure about the lapband

Like a lot of people this is MY OPINION..but the Choice to get The Lap Band procedure was the best decision I've ever made..I finally have control over my weight..I have the tool that I need to become healthier and more active. But the decision is different for everyone. If the benefits out way the risks than I would seriously consider doing it If I were you. My whole process was wonderful and I feel great and I am only 17 lbs down and 3 weeks out from my surgery..Good luck in whatever decision you make!
  8. I'm currently crying after stepping on the scale this morning. A week ago I had lost 17lbs from post op diet and then my banding on the 20th of January. How did i gain 3 lbs ..Im walking 2 miles a day and eating very small amounts. I go in for my first fill the 17th of this month. Im just so discouraged I wanna cry!:cursing:

  15. Hello everyone, New here and just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Holly Radley and I am an Army Wife stationed here at Ft. Hood, Texas. I just had my Lap Band surgery on the 20th. I am excited to start this new chapter in my life.:cursing: Feeling pretty good so Far, but I am still having some Gas pain from the surgery.Left shoulder is giving me some pain here and there also! Im very nervous , I want to do everything right. Reading other peoples problems with the band makes me a bit antsy. I have had a great recovery so far..really no problems with hunger.I have been taking my Vitamins like ordered and drinking my Isopure clear Protein drink. I find that the sugar free pudding makes me full for a while.
