About Me

  • State
    Georgia
The day I stepped on my scales and saw the numbers looking back at me I literrally sand into a deep depression, and made a decision to stop the nonsense.  I accepted my responsibility for my fatness that day.  The research began with a phone call to my part D medicare ins carrier.  I advised them of my medical issues, 12 years ago I had a quadtriple heart bypass, diabetes, arthritis, depression, being on permanent disability and so on...The ins stated I would have to meet all their criteria and they would make a decision upon all the information I needed to gather from different sources.  the next step was contacting the primary care physician.  My Dr was very glad I made the decision and wrote a referral for the cardiac physician.  In the meantime while wating for the cardiology appt, my Dr called and stated Peachtree Bariatrics would be performing the lap band and to call them for appt.Peachtree Bariatrics educated me about the mandatory seminar, explaining all the details for attending the seminar.  the seminar was FUN and entertaining and very informative.  I received the registration package. When I returned home that day I filled out the mountain of paperwork, made a list of all the appts I would need, and felt overwhelmed.  Not to worry tho, I moved forward with appts with the cardiologist, the psychiatrist, the nutritionist, and the pulmonary Dr.  It came together week by week.  I began in July and submitted all the completed paperwook in Sept.  The insurance immediately approved and I was scheduled for Nov 3 for the consultation with Dr Hobson.  Fortunately, my insurance covered all but minor costs.  With the divine guidance through this process I must say that GOD led me through the darkness as promised.  Currently, the lapband has not been tightened at this time.  I missed the 1st appt for the restriction however, I am scheduled on Feb 2nd.  I am feeling anxious about the tightening and that is one reason for reaching out online for support. Another reason I am seeking support is I want to succeed.
