  1. i too know the depression but today i received the worst kick in the teeth ever, my husband is american and i am an aussie, we have been apart 2 years due to both our medical probs. i had gastric lap banding 7 weeks ago and was really starting to gain back confidence and self respect. today, my husbands Dr from VA Hosp called,, hubby is in critical condition and I cannot get there, plz plz my new american friends,,pray for him,,I cannot fly for many weeks due to other med probs,,,I really need this,,Carol
  2. God Bless you too beechpad. My lapband surgery was August 4 and I had 1st fill sept 13, followed next day by removal of 1/2 that quantity as I could not eat or drink. Isn't this a fantastic thing to do,,just wish I had done it earlier but,,,better late than never. I had the Swedish band done and no regrets!!! TRavel this road well and make every minute count is my best advice...oh,, I was 251 and now am 216. long way to go but I am very confident,,,take care.
  3. Hi everyone,,,Megan I cannot disagree cos my surgeon told me just take all your regular meds, including for BP and Diabetes,,, I swallow whole and have had a little discomfort in the 7 weeks since banding. So far, its 7 weeks since op and I have lost 35 pounds which is over 20% of the needed loss,,,was 251 (114kgs) and am now 216 (98kgs) . I am an Aussie and we are metric ,, hence the 2 sets of figures. Power to us all as we travel this wonderful road together,,take care from Carol
  4. wow julie in NYC ,, what a fantastic start,,i too have had great early success but know the high loss will slow down. On day of surgery 4th August 06, I was 251 and 7 weeks later, yesterday,, I am 216 so a 35 pound loss. My immediate goal is to break the 200 but since I am in Australia and we are metric that means I have already broken the 100 kgs.. I was 114kgs,,,so that been a huge break for me,,,so 130 pounds would be fantastic,,, my surgeon has never discussed goals and over here we have very little support. I am hoping to get involved or start up a Perth Western Australia Support group as I find fellow WLS folks. Best wishes to all from Cass in Australia
  5. Am I doing something wrong? Cannot see Sammee's pics at all,, I am nowhere near ready for TT but will need it in a years hopefully,, i am sure she looks wonderful...Carol
  6. Sammee /Aussie chick,,, was so disappointed that your site seems down,, was hoping to finally have found another Aussie on here. I am in Perth Western Australia and feeling very alone. I know no other people here who have had the lap banding. my Dr would not ask any other patients willing to share the experiences after banding.. it would so help to discuss whats happening. Carol
  7. Newbie here, from Australia, had lap banding done on August 4th and 1st fill of 4 mils on Sept 12,, incredible pain and unable to eat or drink anything,, so 2 mils out on sept 13. Totally happy with it now and weight loss of 35 pounds in the 7 weeks. Thoroughly happy but a long way to go. We are metric here so that means I have broken the 100 kg mark,,,so very pleased with that. My goal?????? The surgeon never set one but ideally I would like to get down to 126 pounds , so thats 90 pounds to go. Power to all of you travelling this road with me. Carol
