Try not to get discouraged. It does take a while before you feel that first restriction. I had was banded in January 2010 and it was not until July 2010 that I had my first restriction at 7.0 cc's. My surgeon was very cautious and would only add .50 cc's at a time. They always tell you to have soup and soft foods after a fill for the first 3 days. I would just wait through it to your next appointment. They will gauge how restricted you are based on your feedback of getting hungry between meals and not having any food that "won't go down". Look's like they are filling you much faster than they did me. Which will get you there much faster. Everyone is different of course, but I am now at 7.20 cc's and at 7.5 cc's I was having some pain, so they took out ALL my fluid and I had to start the process over from ground 0. That really stunk for me. I am still not as restricted as I was at 7.5, but my happy spot must be somewhere in between 7.2 and 7.5 cc's. Good Luck! Deb
  2. Good luck with your fill. Can you tell me if it is normal to have side pain when walking any distance? It is my first week after surgery day 7 today. I go to the dr tomorrow but am hoping this pain too will go away. It hurt bad when walking at the store last night for the first time. I was literally holding my side like I had ran a marathon or something. It's been so cold and snowy here, I couldn't get out of the house so very limited walking on my part. I have now stopped all the pain meds because the pain is now tolerable, that kind of took me by surprise last night when it was so painful to walk any distance.
  3. I am a week post op and yesterday went to the grocery store. I wasn't prepared for the pain in my side that I felt after walking around the store for a while. Felt like a side pain like I had been running or something. Please tell me that will get better. Still having pain at the port site primarily, but I am most concerned about the pain in my side when moving around.
