  1. I had an initial consultation with Dr. Bali. In the end I decided that Dr. Shin at CAMC weight loss center was a better fit. He is an amazing and caring doctor. He always makes me laugh. He has been one of my biggest cheerleaders for my 127 lb weight loss.
  2. The son on Pawn Stars.... Corey "big hoss" got it. He looks like he is doing well with it.
  3. In December I had to have a revision surgery. Everything went well. (Thank goodness). After I was healed it was time to start filling up again since I was told my band was emptied for surgery. I went in last month for my first fill, doc first checked to see if there was any fluid still in my band because he stated that you can't always get ALL of the fluid out. There was 1 cc still in it, and he proceeded to put in 3 more cc's to equal a total of 4. I had another appointment today and needed a bit more since I felt I was not feeling a difference. He did the same thing and took out what fluid was in the band already to check.....only there is just 3 cc's in the band! I hope my memory is just being faulty here and not my band. I do have another appointment in a month where we will check it again. Now I'm putting it on here.... 4cc's were put in today! lol. Cross your fingers, pray, send good vibes that its NOT the band. Oh and yes I do believe that the doc should have put it in his notes....but alas...that part was missing. Hmmmm
  4. Just realized how old this post is....but if your still looking, I go to Dr. Davidson from village surgical.
  5. I too am starting over. I've lost 127lbs so far, but have gained 15 back. My problem was a band slip. I recently moved and had been filled too tight before I left my old doctor and it was 4 months before I got approved to see another doctor. In the mean time I struggled to eat and had terrible reflux, needless to say my band slipped. I had corrective surgery on December 4th. I am very thankful that he did not have to remove my band completely. Now I am again in bandster hell since he had to remove all the fluid. This past week I can tell I'm pretty much all healed and need complete willpower to not over do it. I come on here to find support reading everyones stories and have joined a WLS group through my doctor. I am determined to finish losing the rest of my weight and reach my goal.
  6. I didnt have any co morbs myself. I fit into the "200% over ideal weight". Was easily approved and have lost 132lbs.
  7. Mine is near the larger scar. Just under my rib cage on my right side. Like Stacy said each doctor puts it somewhere different.
  8. Best $100 I have ever spent! Keeps me honest and makes me want to achieve the little daily goals I've set for myself. Love Love Love!!!
  9. That is so funny that you posted this. When I first got mine I was too heavy to even use. Now I have so much fun playing the games!
  10. I had a time right after surgery where I cried. For me I went through a period of "mourning" for the food I wasn't going to be able to eat anymore and having regrets about what I did. My doctor did warn me that it might happen. It went away once I got the hang of how I'm supposed to eat AND the weight started coming off. It does get better!

  13. I go to my Pre-op counseling tomorrow. Then banded on the 7th! Whoohooo!:thumbup:
  14. That would be great Jenna! Day one is almost done, and it wasn't too bad. I've been keeping busy doing things outside and cleaning up around the house. How is your pre-op going?
  15. I am getting so nervous and excited! One week from today I will be in surgery getting my LAP-BAND®!! I have started my one week pre-op diet and so far so good. Of course it's only been a few hours, I'm sure I won't be saying that later today. lol
  16. I have Tricare. It took them 4 days to approve me for surgery.:smile2:
  17. That is GREAT Carol!!! Like Jen said...HAPPY DANCE!!
  18. With the surgeon June 7th!!!!! They finally called me yesterday with my surgery date. I am soooo excited, nervous, scared, yet very happy. Can't wait to start my healthy life!:thumbup:
  19. That is AWESOME! I received my approval on Sunday. So I know the relief you are feeling. Good Luck!!!
  20. Hi Belle! Welcome to the forum. I was just approved and still waiting for my surgery to be scheduled. They did mention it will be either June 2nd or 9th. Can't wait! I am getting very nervous and excited myself. Look forward to hearing more about your journey. Good luck!!
  21. I do not have a surgery date yet. I should have one by this week. I had no co-morbs and I was still approved! I guess I met the 200% over ideal weight though..(not something I'm proud of) I am just looking forward to being able to go for a walk without the heavy breathing and sore back!
  22. I just checked Tricare website and I see that I am APPROVED for LAP-BAND®® surgery. They just submitted the paperwork 4 days ago! Whoohoo. Finally Tricare didn't drag their feet on this...it took them 2 WEEKS to approve me for endoscopy! lol Now I just need to chat with my surgeons office and get my surgery date! This made my whole day!!
  23. Endoscopy done today. Very strange...been woozy since I got home..lol. That is the last thing I needed to complete before the Doc submits paperwork to insurance. I am getting VERY excited!
  24. I have had a very similar situation myself. I was referred by my PCM to see one surgeon. Called my insurance to make sure I was good to go. Usually I get an approval letter to let me know I can go see the surgeon, but I didn't so I thought a verbal confirmation from them was good. WRONG. I was going to the wrong surgeon. Didn't catch this until I was viewing claims online, and realized they weren't being paid! I had the psych eval, nutritional visit all done. I was on the verge of having them submit papers for approval, when I found out. So now I am starting over with a new surgeon. THANK GOODNESS he accepted all the paperwork from the previous surgeon. I just have get the endoscope done, wait for approval and schedule a surgery date. I truly believe this is worth the extra work and of course the long wait. I do have to say that I was soooooo upset over this, and I felt like throwing in the towel from the aggravation, but I REALLY need this. So I pulled up my boot straps and trudged forward. I do have to say, I like this surgeon better, so it was a mini blessing despite the aggravation.
  25. Reading all of these posts has brought tears to my eyes. I will keep this thread ear marked to keep me motivated when I start my pre-op diet and get banded. Thank you everyone! One of my most embarrassing moments is when I took my daughter to Six Flags. One of her favorite rides is the Pirate...nice easy going ride. I finally get up to the front, and the man operating the ride made me wait with my daughter until most of the ride was full so the weight it distributed equally on the ride. I wanted to run away! :frown:
