  1. Hi My name is Troy! I had lapband surgery on 12-7-09. I have so far lost 35lbs. and my blood sugars are almost normal. I am off half of my medicines. I was taking 7 different medications daily before i had the surgery. Now i only take a small dose of glyburide for my diabetes and my blood pressure is perfect. I haven't had any problems with the band thus far. I can eat small amounts of solid food but i faithfully stick to the diet plan. I was very pleased with Dr. Koura and his staff. I thought they did a wonderful job of preparing and educating me on the procedure before hand. I will get my first fill on2-4-10. I am very pleased with my progress and highly recommend the lapband surgery to those who are overweight with health problems.
