  1. Hang in there guys! As a food addict I realized that most of it was in my head. I think about food 24/7 and therefore I'm hungry "mentally" all the time. I drank lots and lots of tea/crystal light and water to hold me over from the hunger pains. I repeatedly tell myself that it's only food, I'm the boss here and I can do anything for a couple of weeks. I wrapped my Capricorn brain around the first few weeks as a challenge. Stay strong, the time will pass....YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
  2. First of all CONGRATULATIONS on your HUGE loss for the year! AWESOME!!!!! Second, there is absolutely no reason to return to a Dr. that you are unhappy with for any reason. They are just people doing a job, they too can be jerks. You pay his salary, find someone else who is worthy of a patient that is still going strong. So, take a breath, brush yourself off and move on, tomorrow is another day!
  3. I was banded on 1/25/10 and had mashed potatoes and yogurt before I was supposed to. Today I had to fight the desire for pizza. I find the hard part is mind control. The band helps the tummy not growl but the mind still wants it! I found/find that if I force down lots and lots of water/crystal light, it holds me over until its time for the next meal. Hang in there, you can do anything for a few days. Forget the one day at a time saying, I do it one bite at a time! You are gonna do great!
  4. had my 1st fill 2 days ago, no pain at all. 1cc added, now I finally feel some restriction!
  5. I was banded on 1/25 and am down 25 since that day. I seem to lose about 1.2 a week and though I'd love to drop 10 a month, I'm satisfied with 1/week. I admit, I havent' started exercising yet. I was filled to 5cc in a standard band the day of surgery and never felt any restrictions or fullness. I had 1cc put in 2 days ago and though I have no problem with my salad/fish/yogurt/veggies, I do feel some restrictions. I have figured out that water is so key in this battle. I try to remind myself that it took years to put on and so a year to get off the 88 pounds is very reasonable. 1 day at a time, 1 bite at a time, trying to remember..it's only food. I am in control, not it!
