Last Supper Confession and Pre-Op cravings!
Thanks everyone for sharing...this forum is great. I'm doing MUCH better now that I'm like 5 days into my pre-op diet. The beginning was just a lil hard! :welcome: Had a few moments of tearing up recently thinking about what a HUGE change this is going to be and kinda worried now that I'm 10 days till "sleeve day." I still think about how there IS a risk of death doing this, like any other medical procedure...and that thought alone is like "GULP"...but I think that's just jittery nerves too and that everything is going to be all right...That's my mantra..."Everythings gonna be all right"

Last Supper Confession and Pre-Op cravings!
Hello! So I am sheduled for my surgery on March 12th with Dr. Jose Rodriguez. For some reason...I'm NOT nervous...YET. I went absolutley nutty on my last "anything goes" food-wise day. Here's my confession: I had Starbucks Cinnmon Dolce Latte and a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich for breakfast, Dunkin Donuts later with a apple fritter for a snack, McDonalds BIG MAC with fries and a Coke for lunch, and then had a Dragon Roll, Panang Curry, and a glass of wine for dinner out with my friends for my "Last Supper". THEN when I got home I made my husband pick up some chocolate cake and me and my BFF and him sat and ate that with MORE wine. (Unbuttoning my pants)...GEEZ!!! You'd think I was NEVER gonna eat again. I'm CRAVING anything and everything that I can't have. I got a corn muffin with my chicken at Boston Market yesterday and I obsessed about it all day and finally just had to throw it away instead of saving it for my hubby JUST to avoid eating it!!! LOL So ANYWAY...I'm on my pre-op "high protien and low carb diet" and I'm 3 days in and going NUTS. I'm obsessing already and I hope that this isn't how it's going to be AFTER I get sleeved. Can anyone relate? Any "last supper" confessions to top mine? Does anyone have info on Pre-op diets that are high protien like mine that I can take a look at? I don't have much to go off with what my coordinator provided me it seems. I hope all is well with you and in 11 short days I will be on the "sleeved side"!~! YEA!:)Tina

Surgery Date Scheduled 3/10/10
I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old. Oh...wow...no lifting over 10 pounds for 6 weeks may be an issue for me. My son is about 20 lbs and my husband and I work opposite shifts so I will need to put him to bed and carry him up and down the stairs. Uh oh...this is going to be a problem. My parents have our children for the first week but after that I'm kinda on my own. Eeeeeeeek!

Scheduled for the Sleeve on March 5th~
Hi!! I'm Tina and new to this forum. Good to see that those of us who have chosen to walk down this road have support and for that I thank you all in advance!! :001_smile: I'm scheduled for the 5th of March with Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Juarez. (My insurance, unfortunately, excludes any bariatric surgery so I'm traveling to Mexico.) Have any of you had him as your surgeon or have heard anything? I've researched and researched to the wee hours in the morning but it's best to hear first hand. My best friend had gastric bypass with him and has done wonderfully but the more input the better!!! Another Q I have is does it really take 6-8 weeks for a passport??? if so I'm in TROUBLE and need to get on it! :001_huh: If you're reading this I'd like to hear your "sleeved" story of what to expect...the good and the bad!!! Lay it on me!!! :001_tongue: Have a great week!! Thanks!!! Tina

Surgeon Choice: Aceves or Rodriguez?
Hi! I'm also on the fence about 2 surgeons...Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Rodriguez...at this point Dr. Rod is almost $3,000 cheaper. The plus about Dr. Rod for me too is that my best friend have bypass surgery with him and she just thinks he's FANTASTIC! She raves about him and his staff and how great the hospital was...so for having someone near and dear to me with personal experience with the Dr. that's a plus. I read alot about Dr. Aceves on this forum however...I am just going to keep on RESEARCHING!!! And hear what other people have to say too~! Let me know your thought please!!!
