I was banded on Oct. 20th, 2009. I had researched lapband surgery for two yeas prior to having surgery. My sister hadthe lapband done and she had lost over 100+lbs. I didn't realize how big I was until they weighed me, and I was mortified.I never really had problems being mobile, and I always told myself I was a healthy fat person which is an oxymoron in itself, butI didn't have high blood pressure and I didn't have diabetes. Anyway one day after my 4yr relationship ended with my partner I decided to pupt myselffirst, and admit I needed help losing weight, and so I decided to take the plunge and have lapband surgery. Its been a challenge but I believethat it was the right choice. I am not looking to be skinny but healthier. And although it will be hard work I am willing to put int he time.
