  1. I had my band 5 years ago...it has never worked correctly. My doctor and I are sure there is a slow leak and want to replace it. Has anyone with UHC or any other insurance had luck with them paying for this? Any advice would be great!!! Sharon
  2. I have had my lap band for four years. My surgeon where I had the surgery used to do my fills. He swore I had 3.4cc's in my 4cc in my band and it was impossible to feel food go thru. I knew better, but didn't know what else to do. I gave up on my band for three years after hearing that. I have since moved to Asheville, NC and found a great doc in Charlotte. Dr. Voellinger. He did an inital flouro and checked my band, and pulled out 1.5cc's. That was all I had. Since then we have found no leak and I after another fill I am getting restriction. I was filled at 2.5 and had to have a small unfill. I am at 2.0 and feel like I may need to go up to 2.2 or so to be at just the right spot. I feel like I have wasted a lot of time but I am so thankful I have found Dr. V and now I am on my way. :clap2: My surgeon did a great job, I think we just had trouble with getting fill done correctly and accurately. We know our bodies and after a while we really can know our bands. I love mine and I am so glad I have it. Don't give up and listen to your body!
  3. I was at 2 cc's and had NO restriction, now I am 2.5cc.
  4. I had a fill yesterday and went from being able to eat anything to not being able to keep my saliva down. I am wondering if anyone else has had this and it got better after a couple of day. I don't feel any pain or anything, just have to PB about every 45 minutes or so, just salivia. If I drink anything hot or cold, it comes back too.
  5. I am new to this post. I was banded four years ago and have relocated to Asheville since then. I am having trouble with my band and I ham hoping to see Dr. Voellinger in Charlotte soon. Is there a group that meets here? Sharon
