  1. I am 5 days post-op and have NO fever, but major chills. I, too, was a t-shirt and shorts around the house kinda girl....now I have on fleece pj's and socks and have considered gloves!
  2. OK. I am going to blow your minds because this blew MY mind. After all the careful research I had done, I was prepared for the long stretch of liquids, then mushies and FINALLY solids....these were my surgeon's and nut's recommendations: Day 1 and 2 liquids, Day 3 and 4 soft foods including scrambled eggs and TUNA??!!! Day 5---begin to progress to solids! Well... I am day 5 and I have actually eaten (and chewed extremely well) chicken fajitas for dinner! I was so scared, but after my first TINY, well-chewed bite with no pain or problems, I went ahead. I was able to EAT 1/4 cup, though. I am assuming I have restriction due to my stomach still being swollen b/c the surgeon did NOT inflate the band at all. BUT...MIND BOGGLING for sure...I am still extremely careful and cautious and chew my food to mush...and I don't recommend anyone trying this without your surgeon's approval. Just my experience so far.... I did come to the conclusion that they are doing this to let the patient experience what restriction feels like early on because I HAVE restriction right now. I'll lose it in a couple weeks when the swelling is completely gone, I'm sure.
  3. My surgery date was 12/8/09 also and I still have this gas pain as well, but I am coping. It hurts worse when I lie down and also if I stay in the same sitting position for very long. I must say that, while it hurts a LOT to get going, walking really helps relieve it. Get up and move around, don't stay in the same position long and allow it to "collect" forming a huge painful gas bubble.
