About Me

I am coming up on my 40th birthday. I had hoped my BMI was spot on by this time, but I started having problems with my band about 6 months ago...This has led to my current quest for a revision to VSG. I am very excited about the prospects, but a bit apprehensive, too.

I have a B.S. in Psychology and a Masters in Information Systems. My BS was earned 4 years after High School with my Masters coming nearly 20 years later.

I have a family, which includes two kids, two dogs and two cats. All are very supportive of my weight loss. I am fortunate to say my friends are all supportive, too.

My medical situation is a little unique. I have been within the healthy range of the BMI until I had to go on Prednisone for 6 months at age 31. I have not been able to drop the weight I gained from the medication. I have Lupus and Lupus Nephritis, which makes exercise challenging due to the ups and downs.

I am looking forward to seeing and feeling how the weight loss interacts with Lupus.
