  1. We will strive to improve. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Thursday in Thousand Oaks should be fine, Dr. Misra will be there. I would like to see you myself on Monday if possible. What ever is best for you. Thank you again.
  2. Dear KLisa, First and foremost, let me reassure you that if something is amiss, my staff and I will not stop caring for you until your weight loss journey is successful and complete. That said, let me try to address some of your concerns. Firstly, I did slow down my surgeries as a result of elbow tendonitis. I am well and back to 100%. I’m glad to hear that you’ve had a good experience with my partner, Dr. Misra. I am blessed to have a partner as kind and gifted a surgeon as Dr. Misra. She and I have had the same surgical training culminating in a specialized Fellowship training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Except that she is better looking than I am, we are interchangeable and do everything exactly the same. Rather than delay your surgery, we thought it best to continue with Dr. Misra on the day of your surgery. It is our policy to notify patients as soon as these types of emergencies arise. I am sorry if my office did not notify you sooner. I will look into this and make every effort to prevent this in the future. Our mission is to provide the best compassionate healthcare possible. I appreciate this chance to better my practice. In regards to inconsistent office visits, please accept my apologies. I hope you understand that surgery is not completely predictable. Some surgeries take longer, some are more complicated than anticipated, and emergency surgeries deffinatly throws a wrench in everyone’s plans. The concerns you have about your progress are very common with both the LAPBAND and the Realize Band. In fact, there is almost no difference with the bands, except that our anecdotal experience has shown that patients with the Realize band sense restriction a little later. We think this is because the Realize band is slightly softer and holds a little more saline. This may explain why we may have assumed that you have the Realize band. The aftercare is the same for both bands. Regardless, please don’t rush to think that there is a defect with the system. It commonly takes up to five (some times even more) adjustments before patients find their sweet spot. My email address is DrFeiz@DrFeiz.com. Please reach out to me so that I can arrange a visit. I’m in Thousand Oaks every Monday. Again, be reassured that we will not stop supporting you until your weight loss is successful. Dr. Feiz

  4. Dear Monroe33, I am sorry for the frustration my office has caused you. I understand how much of a let down you have felt after waiting for so long. I will look into it right away. Can you also please call my central office @ 310-855-8058 so I can get some more details to get things remedied faster.
  5. Dear Pmommy, This is Dr. Feiz, it is a pleasure to meet you cybertronicly for now anyway... First of all, an relation to Pdaddy :-)? I am sorry for the lack of attention to detail that you have received thus far. I assure you that you are correct and that it is not a reflection of the medical care you will be receiving from me or my program. You mentioned having to air concerns at the seminar. Let me set your mind at ease regarding that. The reason I start our encounter as a group seminar is to allow you to benefit from other peoples questions. In one of my first consultations a Pilot of a commercial carrier, asked me if the Band would change while he was in the air... The answer is slightly due to altitude change... not important really unless your eating a big meal while flying... but the more important point was that there was a of Flight attendant in the group that had never thought of asking this question even though she may fly as much as the pilot... the point is that different people have different amounts of information regarding the Band. Different people have friends or family members that have had one type of surgery or another. When you hear other people's question it may trigger other thoughts or concerns for you. The Seminar is not meant to replace a private meeting with me that will take place after the seminar where we can talk privately and get to know each other more personally. I look forward to meeting with you personally and setting your mind at ease. Respectfully, Dr. Feiz

    Need Dr. advice...

Dear jdog75, I am sorry for the staff having let you down. This is the first I've heard about it. Also, it seems like you got some good advice from the lapbandtalk.com forum. Let me answer some of the questions raised. Firstly, I am an independent physicians although I do work with conglomerates as mentioned. I agree that the support staff is as important as the surgeon and I have strived to create a program that emphasizes this point. My program is comprehensive. I have an Registered Dietician and Licensed Psychologist in addition to an experienced Program Director to aid and assist patients. I do pride myself on being very hands on with my patients which is why my email Dr.MichaelFeiz@gmail.com is read by me personally and not filtered by my staff. Please contact me so I can better assist you. Again I am sorry for your frustration. Dr. Michael Feiz,
