  1. Thanks for the encouragement and congratulations to you. I appreciated the reminder about "slow" weight loss...it is hard to be patient...but I will celebrate my successes. Did you get a trainer? I am considering that for myself too. I can't seem to work out hard enough on my own.
  2. I agree...as a mom, I always try to get my kids to eat those last few bites...WHY? I will try to be more conscience of this now...thanks! I also have a question...I was recently banded (12/21) and I seem to get that pressure feeling (between my shoulder blades) when I take the first couple of bites...then if I can wait it out and get past that feeling...then I can can eat a fair amount. I can't imagine that is the "full" feeling already? I am a little confused...maybe I am just eating too fast. How will I know when I am truly "full"...I wish I clearly knew that...any help you could give is appreciated.
  3. Wow! Congratulations on your weight loss and journey. I am just starting (banded 12/21/09) this road and am very uncertain about whether I have made the right decision or not. I am happy to hear how well you have done.
  4. I was banded 12/21/09 and I tried everything suggested to eleviate the gas pain but nothing really worked. It lasted about a week and then tapered off...hang in there...
  5. I had my surgery Dec. 21st. So I am about 1 month post op. I felt really good the first two days after surgery, sore but O.K. My hardest days were days three and four due to the gas issue...I was miserable. It lasted for about a week and then tapered off. I now feel completely normal and am anxious to get my first fill since I am regaining my full appetite again...good luck to you.
  6. Well it is finally here...this afternoon I will become a December Bandster...anyone else having their procedure the week before Christmas too? Love to have someone to check in with and help support. I am nervous and excited.
  7. I am nervous too...I have always been overweight and it feels normal to me...I hope to adjust the new "me" O.K. My surgery is in 10 days and I am most nervous about missing foods...not being able to eat normally. Most of what I read talks about what it is like post op but not what LIFE is going to be like afterwards...my extended family is trying to talk me out of it and have me cancel my date but I don't know...HELP!
