  1. I am one week less than you but about the same as you.. I think we are doing well... it is going to take some time but I am like you the 30 lbs kind of gets me down. I didn't do a pre op diet so this is all since surgery.
  2. Thank you so much. By the way you look great. What an inspiration.
  3. Thank you for posting that. I too am 54 and have a husband who does not want me to do this. I have 100 lbs to lose. I have been overweight for only 12 yrs but it is starting to affect my health big time. The scales keep going up and I have to do this for me. I am miserable and don't want to die in my 60's.
  4. Hi, my name is BJ. I briefly introduced myself a month ago. I am 54 y/o and live in NC. I am in the process of getting ready for the band. I am waiting to be scheduled. All my stuff was submitted to insurance , hope it won't take too long. I am excited about the proceedure but also scared. I am afraid I won't lose enough weight. I need to lose 100 lbs. I am a sweet eater and I have heard they have the most trouble but I am hoping that that will give me a jump start to get on the right track. With support I know I can do it. Has anyone had this done that has hypothyroidism and taking antidepressants. I hear both can slow things down normally but don't know how that will work w/ a band. I also have heard I may be able to come off some of my meds but not the thyroid.
  5. New to the site.. no scheduled date yet. Still waiting for approval and for last pre op visit. Afraid a little... anyone in the 50's had this done?
