Well, I was 24 at the time of surgery. I weighed in at 234 lbs and now I am down to 194. Lab band was not something I was actively seeking and it truly was my last resort. I had already done any diet and every diet you can think of. My mom had gastric bypass 8 years ago and begged me to not go that extreme. I was tired of being overweight and not being able to do the things that all my other friends were doing because of my size. I was embarassed also because I barely fit in an airplane seat. I went thru True Results in Dallas for my pre surgery consult. I really didn't think I would qualify because I didnt actually know how overweight I was. I met with Dr. Fox and was so excited that I chose him as my surgeon. He is very hands on and has an excellent bedside manor. I had my surgery on December 18,2008 and I am sooooo happy. It has been a tough journey but I am looking forward to the next half of my journey.
