  1. Thanks for the responses! I made some beans to go with dinner, and they hit the spot. I hope that when I reach goal, I can add some other carbs back a tiny bit. Congrats on making your goal weight!
  2. Hello, So after my 4th fill, I FINALLY feel like I have a lap band. Before my 4th fill, I had never PB'd, vomitted, gotten anything truly stuck and I could pretty much eat anything except for bread. I ate brown or wild rice for dinner regularly. BUT NOW, I've done all of the above, and I can't eat beef anymore, can't eat anything with white flour and I have to be careful in the morning while my band is still really tight. I've learned the hard way that the chewing really slowly thing is REAL. I'm grateful, believe me. But I also want to know what carbs might work for dinner. I'm scared to try rice now. What do you eat for dinner or do you stick to protein and veggies? Thanks! And good luck to everyone! Your success stories inspire me.
  3. DawnP, Thanks for posting. I was banded on the same day you were, and also don't have restriction. It's really frustrating. I have my thrid fill on Friday and am hoping that I get restriction that last beyond a week. I've only lost about 25 pounds or so. Depressing, although better than before 9/9/09!! Good luck to you and keep us posted.
  4. Hello! How is everyone doing? I was banded on 9/09/09 (no pre surgery diet) and have lost about 28 pounds and have had two fills. I hoped that I would have lost more by now by I have not been as consistent as I need to be. How much have you lost? Are you happy with your progress? If you are really successful, what are you doing? Good luck!
  5. Thank you all very much! Very helpful...and Abingdon, I had a hiatal hernia repair, too, so maybe that plus the referred pain is what it is. Thanks again, and hope you all have a great holiday!!
  6. Ahh--good point. I was banded in September 09; have been eating everything without a problem and had a fill several weeks ago without a problem. This is out of nowhere. As I think about it, over the past couple of days, I have not had enough Water. It does feel similar to the pain I had after surgery in my shoulder. Hope that additional info is helpful. Thank you!!
  7. Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me. When I eat anything, I am getting a significant pain in my left shoulder. I am able to drink without a problem. Does anyone know what this means? It's painful to eat, but not like something is getting stuck or anything-just the shoulder. Thoughts? Thank you!
  8. Hello! I was banded on 9/9/09 and have had my first fill. I'm a frequent lurker and appreciate all the info you all share. I wonder if someone can give me the scoop on rice. I understand a lot of bandsters can't eat it because it expands in the stomach. So does this mean that it won't get stuck, but if I eat it I could be in a lot of pain later on? Or will it come back up? What can I expect? Thanks!
