  1. Great news Ms_C.. Congratulations on getting started to exercising. I was banded on June 30 and two weeks ago felt the same way as you did. Getting started is the hard part but now I started exercising I feel so much better!! Now, I got walking 3-4 days a week with my little dog. He is my motivator because he forcrs me to walk faster because it pulls the leash which makes me keep up with him. It is a hard journey but we will complete it!!!
  2. I have this problem too!!! I was banded on June 30 and I am noticing the sounds and air when I drink and eat. Lately I notice 30-45 mins after I eat my left shoulder starts hurting. It is very uncomfortable.
  3. Yes!!! I just had a case of hiccups a few minutes ago. I am still on liquids and was drinking a sip of water and viola.. Just sipped a few more sips of water and they were gone. I have notice since being banded June 30, 2010 I have had the hiccups alot more lately. I also had a hernia repair.
  4. Have Highmark BCBS.. I was approved first try after 6 mon requirement met.
  5. This is terrible!!! Sorry to hear this. It does seem like the charity hospital should be able to help or make some kind of payment arrangements with you. Will pray for you and keep us posted on your outcome.
  6. I was banded on June 30.2010. In my preop class there was a young lady that was 16 years old. She was banded the same day I was banded. Her and her mom was there. Her mom self paid for her surgery. They drove over 6 hours to my city for the surgery. She appear to be maybe 5'2" and her weight was maybe in the 350s. I have a niece that is 20 years old that is obese and I suggested her to exercise and watch what she eats but not sure if i would suggest surgery to her unless I was sure she actually gave diet/exercise a good try.
  7. I was banded on Wed (June 30). I have some pain in my shoulders and tummy. I have been walking around the house and went to Burlington today. The gas has moved some but it is still painful. My tummy hurts a little but not as bad as my shoulders. Take Care my fellow Bandsters!!!
  8. Protein Shakes, vitamins, water, and insurance co-pays.
  9. Got my Approval yesterday!!! My surgery is schedule for June 30!!!!!!!!!!
  10. My paperwork was received by my insurance on May 5,2010. I am still waiting for an approval. I have called several times a week for the past three weeks and have been told it is still in review. I have been waiting now for seven months to get this lapband!!!
  11. This is a great question. I was just thinking about this the other day. I am 5'8" (Large frame) and my goal weight is 165.
  12. Hi Chatty... my condolence to you and your family in the loss of your mom. I lost my mom in Dec '09. Your story is very similar to mine. My mom also overfed us too as a child. She grew up poor and alot of days didn't eat so she vowed my sister and I wouldn't never have a childhood like hers. She was obese, diabetic and hypertensive. After her death I went into a depression and gained another 40 lbs. I have vowed to get healthy and get my weight in control and live a more healthier lifestyle. Congratulations on your new goals. You can do it!!! Just remember absent in the body means present with God. Your mom is watching down on you. Take Care!!
  13. I am looking forward to more energy and being more healthier. Shopping in a store and not heading to the accessory counter because I cann't wear any of the clothes in there. And last but not least showing the "haters" at work that weightloss surgery is not a bad thing!!!!
