How long does it usually take the surgical coordinator to submit your information after its all been documented?

Well it's finally happened! I got approved! I'm so happy! Getting my details tomorrow. So excited.

Hi just recieved a denial letter for lap band because of a wrong psych evaluation? I went to the Dr. my surgeons office uses? Is this another ploy by the insurance to deny my procedure? Just wondering if anybody else ran into this problem.

Hi started this journey in Dec. 2015. Went through 1 appeal that was presented from my surgeons office. I called Horizon twice this week and they told me I need to send more information I'm 5'4 and 205 my BMI is 39.5. I have high blood pressure, veinous insufficency, been going to pain management for 1 1/2 years for 2 herniated disks and a tear above another and I'm on two different protonics for gastritis. I never mentioned the gastritis condition before, do you think it might put me over the top with the second appeal? Would appreciate any input. I don't want to throw in the towel.

Hi I started this journey in Dec. I have NJ Horizon BCBS and am still waiting for approval. I call my Drs office every month and she said its under appeal and not to give up? Any suggestions to speed things up?

I have NJ Horizon BCBS. My surgical coordinator submitted a dummy date of March 31st to speed up the process. I don't know why the approvlal is taking so long. My visit with my Dr. was in December. He said I was a perfect candidate for the band. Anybody with the same experience?

How about horizon bcbs of nj how long is the approval wait?

have insurance companies lowered the required bmi requirement? particulary horizon blue cross blue shield.
