  1. HI all, Well its just over one year since I was banded and I am rather disappointed. I have only lost 17 lbs and even when having a cup of tea I vomit most days! I was due to see Dr Chris tomorrow in London but he has had to cancel coming and the other Chris is coming instead. I have canceled as want to talk to Dr Chris. However, I am away for work from Tuesday until October half way across the world.... ahhhhhh... Any thoughts? JB
  2. Hi All, I know how Scooby feels, I had my band fitted in Feb 2010, I have a 7 ml band and am at 6.75 ml and I have only lost 8 kg and I can hardly swallow anything not mushie. I am fed up with this. It was supposed to be a new start for me and to help me but I am sick at least 5 times a day. I was just sick now having water. I swim and walk 6 days a week and nothing much is happening. I am now going on holiday and am wondering about a de-fill a) for the flight as I have heard it can hurt and :smile2: so I can enjoy plenty of fish. Any thoughts? Thanks JB
  3. Hi All, Well just back from London and meeting Fred for my first fill, he was surprised that I had actually put on weight even though I have been on a liquid diet for the past couple of weeks since the op! Where to go next with this? JB:mad2:
  4. Hi Sussie, Yes you do and I was horrified when I read this and got it confirmed, however, if you have a friend with you they can do this and the other option is to ask your Nurses at your local surgery. I did that and they did my injections every day for me. I have a total phobia about needles and even when I had the surgery they had to gas me. It is really not bad at all. Good luck. JB
  5. Hi Tracy You got it right, not happy but then again I took a bad fall one week back and fractured 3 ribs so can't exercise at all. I am on semi skimmed milk and fat free yoghurt. I can hardly move because of the ribs. Even breathing is a pain!! Literally!!! I want a fill asap.... they will not do until 4 weeks past the operation. I am really pleased to hear of your loss, its fantastic and keep going girl. Hope all else is well. love xxxx
  6. Hi All, I had my band done by Dr Chris on 5 Feb and for the first time this morning weighed myself and have managed to put on 1 kg! I have only been having Milk, Tea, Soup and Yoghurt. I am so disheartened! Did anyone else have this issue? JB:sad:
  7. Hi Julie Dr Chris - email ID - chris.debruyne@advalvas.be He works out of London, Manchester, Newport and Scotland together with Ireland etc but not Bristol that I am aware, I was banded by him last Friday. I have Frederiks cell number if you wish. Anything else let me know and if I can help I will. JB
  8. Hi All, Thank you so much for your message and putting my worry to bed! Feeling better again today and yesterday the Doc checked me out and all pleased. Thanks JB
  9. Hi all, I have just been banded last week by Dr Chris, am feeling very tight on the left side, is this normal? It is quite sore to get up and down from chairs and bed.... any thoughts? Thanks JB
  10. Hi JonS Unfortunately I had pick a couple of dates but Dr Chris was unable to do, one I did pick was confirmed then had to be changed by him. That's life I guess. So now Feb..... Thanks for the info re Eurostar, I have been looking at flight from Birmingham or Eurostar but not come to a conclusion just yet. Are you going with? JB
  11. Hi Si, Yeah am looking at flybe too... The flu has finally gone so that's ok but Dr Chris has been in touch and they have changed my date to Feb. I hope it is not delayed again! Do all your family know? JB
  12. Hi I am not worried about the flu as I have it right now, I just hope it goes in time!! Yeah it is a bit of a problem going all the way and not being sure it can be done as no consultation before. But I don't know how many get turned down. My worry is about the after care and how long it will be needed, I normally live overseas and so having this done in Belgium and then having to stay in UK for about 6 months is a lot for me. In someways I am really looking forward to it but am also apprehensive..... I am going on my own and so there is that also. How are you getting there, they have stopped the flights from Birmingham - what about Manchester? JB
  13. Hi Si, I am booking in for 15 Jan. Unfortunately can't go before as away for the Christmas season.... Do you have any worries or questions? I am based in the West Midlands. JB
  14. HI Si, Thanks for the response, where are you based in the UK? Would you like to chat? How are you getting there etc? JB
