I'm 5 Days Post Op And Exhausted! Is This Normal?
As others have written, it`s quite normal but I would suggest that you ensure good intake of protein, water and vitamins especially iron. This coupled with light exercise helps. Hopefully the tiredness has subsided by now.

Question! **warning: Kind Of Gross Questions!!**
The gurgling noise is part of the deal and will reside after a while but if you`re having the run then you need to see your Dr. Good luck, hun.

How Often Are You Drinking?
Keep drinking throughout the day or whenever possible. Good luck, hun.

Uncomfortable Feeling.....
2yrs into my journey, I still occassionally experience that feeling. Instead of drinking water, if you leave it for a few minutes, it goes down. This is provided the bite was small and you had chewed it well. There is a difference between that tight feeling and a stuck though, so be mindful. Good luck, hun.

No support from my husband
It`s extremely difficult when one feels like she is not being supported by a spouse. However, they did not make a decision to change their lifestyles, we did. Therefore, the altimate responsibility rests with us. Instead of relying on him for the shopping to be done, why don`t you take on that responsibility since it would give you an opportunity to exercise as well. We are also alright with eating in restaurants. It all depends on what you order and as others have already mentioned, it`s up to you to monitor what goes into your mouth. Your spouse has no control over that. Sorry if I don`t sound sympathetic but I feel that not assuming the victim role is a start to winning this difficult battle that we are fighting. Good luck with your journey which could be won despite the difficulties hun.

no motivation! gained weight!
Come on hun, just put your clogs on. You can get rid of the extra lbs just as you did the first time round. My advice would be for you to go for an adjustment if you have not done so recently and get some exercise in. I feel like this is an advice I should consider myself since I am not doing so brilliantly after having my fill reduced some months back. I have however, made an appointment for a fill next week and intend to get my act together. Slips happen unless you are an angel. It`s what you do about them that matters. Own your situation and deal with it, of course with support. Should you want to, I could go into a challenge with you. Let me know.

Eating too little?
I was also not able to eat a lot post-op until my first fill. My advice would be that you do not force yourself to eat too much but concentrate on taking your Vitamins and Protein and eating well. You need to keep your body nourished because being diagnosed with Iron difficiency or any other deficiency and being anaemic is not an easy thing to contend with. Congrats on your weight-loss. Keep up the good work.

8 months post Lap Band surgery & not enough restriction!!
Bonita, how long did it take you to eat 2 hamburgers, a cob of corn and large coleslaw 6 days after a fill? Were you able to eat it as you did pre-op? What I`ve noticed is that during my "bad days" I can eat any amount of food if I let myself do so. If you happen to be a bulk eater like me, then you really have to measure your food and keep to it. Regarding a leakage from the band, it`s easy to assess that. Your surgeon only needs to withdraw the saline prior to a fill and measure it in the syringe before putting it back. I also feel that if the tube is pressing against your diaphragm and causing you pain, then you need corrective surgery to address that. How are you doing in regards to exercise? Exercising helped me a lot when my eating was eratic. Good luck, hun.

Did your shoe size change with weight loss?
My shoe size changed from sizes 8 to 8.5 to size 7. One can only imagine how many shoes are wasted and that`s what makes me miserable but I guess it`s a blessing!

Frustrated
The fluctuation of weight is quite normal throughout your journey. Am I reading your ticker right? If so and you have only 58lbs to lose then your weight loss will be slower that it is for those who have a lot of weight to lose. Until you achieve restriction through fills, I would watch what I eat and moderate my intake as well as exercise. You should be alright if you follow your care team`s directions. Good luck.

Are you sore after a slime episode?
My guess is that you are a little sore after your stuck episode. It should settle soon. After sliming, I would have waited a little while before drinking but I don`t necessarily believe that it is the cause of the pain. I don`t know how far you are on your weightloss journey but be mindful of your intake. Saying that, it` really trial and error at times. Provided you go by your surgeon and nutritionist` advice. Good luck.

IT ISN'T HELPING, ANY SUGGESTIONS
Gordita - you need time. Most of the time, the band requires several fills (4-6) before one reaches restriction. I was fortunate that soon after my op, I was restricted and did not feel hungry (still don`t experience hunger) so I managed to lose a few lbs. However, after the 1st fill, the band losened up and I could eat whatever I chose to so I had to monitor my intake. On my 3rd fill, I met a lady at the fill centre who looked quite anorexic and had attended to unfill. She informed us that her first year was dissappointing since it was not until the second year that she started losing weight. That had been at the back of my mind throughout my journey. I can`t say I did not winge and moan about the slow pace I was losing weight and the numerous stalls I went through but unconsciously, I knew that if I worked the tool and respected it a bit, I would reach my goal. It was difficult though. Well, I got there eventually. However, I should point out that not everyone succeed with the band. You will get there so hang in there. The weight loss at 2 months is impressive so Celebrate that and keep up the good work. Good luck.

Daily Wow Moments
Please join me in listing your wow moments here. It does not matter how minuscule you think your achievements are, I feel that they could still be inspirational for others. I read a lot of challenge / re-commitment threads and I feel that we need one full of successful / inspirational stories. I will kick start the thread with my most recent wow moments. Shopping on New Year`s Eve with the hubby, met a friend we have not seen for over a year now. She said hello and Happy New Year to DH and proceeded to ask whether I was his sister. She then said, tell the Mrs I say Hi and will see her shortly. I responded by saying the Mrs. says Hi back and we should really get our diaries to schedule that meet. Imagine her face? Shopping is fun now because everything / anything looks good on the frame. WOW I must also state that this is the 1st X`mas period during my adult life that I had enjoyed as much as I could without weight-gain at the end or feeling the need to go on a diet soon afterwards. Feeling well and not lethargic as usual.

If you are not hungry...
Jackie, if you`re anything like me, you will never feel hungry again, at least not physically. I`ve been banded since October, 09 and have never been hungry since. That, however, does not stop me from eating, especially junk food. What I`ve noticed is that I always eat a lot more than I intend if I go for a long time without eating. I sometimes forget to eat and end up wih the symptoms one used to get when I was in my starving mode prior to banding such as lethargy and slight dizzines. My advice will be that you eat at a planned interval whether you`re hungry or not. I`m hardly able to eat Breakfast but I guess I sometimes make up fo that during the night. It` 5pm this side of the pond and I`ve just remembered to eat. Shameful and not advisable because that does not aid responsible weightloss and that`s why I`m forever in a stall. Don`t wait until you`re hungry to eat, adopt a responsible attitude from the start if you can.

Help
welcome to the site. Congratulations on the weightloss so far. Weight gain is not a good thing but it happens and I`ve had my fair share during the course of my weightloss journey. Are you due a fill? If you`re not restricted enough, my advice will be to get a fill instead of struggling along. Good luck and Happy New Year to you.
