  1. I've read a lot about the hurdles and all the steps people have to go through to get approved by their insurance companies? I have an OBGYN who reccomended WLS, gave me a business card to a bariatric surgeon. I called immediately and made an appt, saw the surgeon a week later. Half way through I asked if he thought I'd get approved, he said i already was or I wouldn't be seeing him today. I have to follow the four month weight management plan and then can have the surgery. Am i just lucky or is this not that unusual? :scared2:
  2. thanks so much for the imput; had my first visit with the surgeon today and ask most of those questions. I'm approved and now have to participant in the 4 month weight management plan (ironic that i've spent the last 30 years on an unsuccessful one) but whatever the insurance company wants, they seem to get. :scared2:
  3. Hi Adrienne, Read your blog... loved it, f-bomb and all. Salad, I don't think that will be what i'm craving. Glad you're feeling better. I bookmarked your blog, so i'll be reading. -Leslie
  4. I'm so happy for you. I've been reading these posts for a number of months and am seeing the doctor tomorrow for the first time. Good luck with everything and i look forward to seeing your updates.
  5. I'm going to my first appointment tomorrow. Can anyone provide any questions I should ask? I know the basics that you can find on websites, i'm just wondering if there's anything that the experienced have asked or wished they would have asked. :sneaky: thanks
  6. I've been seriously thinking about getting a lapband for about a year now and I have my first Dr. appointment on Thursday. After researching everywhere I can look, my main concern is how long the band lasts. (Lot's of negative stuff on youtube) Has anyone found any research on people who've had their bands 6-10 years? How are they doing? or has anyone posted this question to their doctor? Thanks for the support
