  1. I am also a college student and before my surgery I would drink on the weekends. I was banded two weeks from tomorrow, and on Friday night I had about a half of a water bottle of wine. Probably not a decision endorsed by doctors, but I had no problems. And I didn't get drunker any faster than I did before. Although, granted, I spread that drink over about three hours. I wouldn't want to start drinking beer or anything though so soon after surgery. I feel like the carbonation would hurt.
  2. i was banded a week ago and i can feel the band, especially when i lie on my stomach. it is a weird feeling. i don;t know if it is the stitches or the scar tissue or the band, but i am kind of hoping it goes away.
  3. I just got banded on Monday and I have lost about 9 pounds. The first few days after my surgery I didn't lose much - I think it was because of the liquids they pump you with in the hospital. I have heard a lot of people don't lose anything that first week, whether it is because of the liquids or the medicine or whatever. Even if you lose a little amount of weight the first week, it doesn't mean the band will be unsuccessful for you.
