  1. I know how you feel...it's kind of like that "outsider" feeling I always had in the summer when everyone was shopping for an wearing cute skimpy clothes and I was sweating it out in long pants and tops that covered as much of me as possible. I was banded on 9/18 and I didn't think I'd EVER eat normal food again...my doctor put me back on clears during week 3 b/c I was sick and he didn't know what was wrong. I just went to my first family dinner party. It was for my niece's birthday and my sister made a veggie lasagna and salad w/ice cream cake for dessert. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing but I just ate a little bit of everything and chewed it forever. You know what I'm finding? By the time I've eaten an acceptable amount, I'm sick of the taste and texture of the food no matter how good it is! Chin up, life gets back to normal...just a better normal!
  2. Well, I've had a HIDA scan to make sure it's not my gall bladder, a CT scan to check to see if it's anything else and NADA! There's apparently nothing wrong with me (at least nothing that would cause the gas). I started on a probiotic yesterday so we'll see how that goes. I still get that pain in my left shoulder when the gas builds up but it's not too awful. It's not lactose intolerance...I thought that too and cut out all dairy for two weeks, no difference. Oh well, onward and downward!! :cursing:
  3. Thanks all for the replies and advice. I will try the B6 and AloeVera and see if that helps. Gas-X doesn't seem to work for me. Doc can't find any reason for it and suggests I just "ride it out". Gonna be a little difficult for my co-workers next week if this doesn't clear up :blushing: Still, can't complain about losing 20 lbs in less than 5 weeks...my jeans literally fell off me today!!
  4. Congratulations!! What a great feeling to break the 200 barrier!!
  5. Hi all, this is my first time on this site. I've read some great posts and your ideas and tips are invaluable...thanks! I'll be 3 weeks post surgery tomorrow and the gas pain in my left shoulder has mostly gone away (not making me cry anymore ). The problem is I am so gassy!!! It's embarrassing and I'm afraid to be out in public for long periods of time. I'm still on mushy food but it doesn't matter what I eat. Even after drinking Water, I start to feel bloated. Has anyone else been dealing with this and is there an end (no pun intended) in sight????
