Now I am allowing my self to get excited....
Well I am now allowing myself to get excited about getting the band.... I have been trying for over 2 yrs and I got my approval letter in July but still did not let myself think about it too much. But I see the Dr on Sept 6th for my final appointment and then I get my surgery date. The office told me it will be 3-4 weeks after my visit my the Dr. Today I found this site and read all the stories and stuff and now I cant wait to get the surgery so I can get started. Currently I am 269 lbs and 5"8' tall a size 22-24 depending on the clothes. My highest weight was 272 and have been this size for 3 1/2 yrs now. I was 220 lbs for atleast 9 yrs but when I hurt my back and I went up to 260 and then they put me on insulin last spring and I gained 12 lbs in 1 1/2 months. I have lost 3 pounds but with the humidity I have not been eatting much. I am going to take the before shot of myself soon so that I can remember what I look like. My goal weight was about 175 but would not mind being closer to 150 or so. I have not seen 160 since the 6th grade and I dont know how I would feel about being that small. I am not sure I would recognize myself. I guess right now I am just going to work on getting to 200 then 175 and then we will see how I feel. I am hoping to get off some of these meds I am on by the end of October. My diagnosis list is getting up there also. Diabetes, Asthma, chronic lower back and joint pain, high blood pressure, Irritable bowel syndrome, poly cystic ovarian syndrome, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrom, and Sjogren's syndrome, hyperlipademia and migraine headaches and gastric reflux. I am currently taking: Vicoden for pain, Flexaril for muscle pain, Mobic for joint pain, Lisinopril for high BP, Actos, Lantus insulin and Reg insulin for diabetes, Remeron for sleep, Fish oil for high tryglicerids and high cholesterol and lexapro for mild depression. Anyways I will keep everyone updated on the surgery and the after results.

Tummy tuck *pics*
Wow you look great. I took care of a women in the Hospital when I was in Nursing School and when I got my assignment It said Hernia repair with a Panulectumy or however you spell it. Anyways it was the sneaky way for her Dr to get her a tummy tuck and have her insurance pay for it because she had lost close to 200 pounds with a Gastric Bypass. I have been so afraid my weight loss after shot will look like your before picture. I have had 2 C-Sections and with each one I got a little more of an hang over. You probably do look skinny to your husband because that extra skin added inches in your clothes. This is kind of personal but did you find your husband enjoys the weight being gone? I was teasing my husband today and told him that next year I will be fabulously skinny just like him and he wont be able to resist me...hehehehe... Anyways good luck and keep up the good work.

4cc band vs. 10cc band
First of all let me intorduce myself. My name is Michelle and I will be 32yrs old if a few days. I have not had the surgery yet but have my pre op visit on Sept 6th and was told my surgery will be 3-4 weeks after that. I have been over weight my whole life and am hoping this helps. I have been over 200 lbs for 13yrs and after my first child went to 220 and stayed there until 2 yrs ago. I hurt my back 2 yrs ago well actually it will be 3 yrs in Oct and as the scale went up my health went down. 1 yr ago I was diagnosed with diabetes, I also have asthma, high blood presure, chronic joint and lower back pain, irritable bowel syndrome, heart burn 24/7 and poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I have been looking into the band for just over 2 yrs since my weight gain after hurting my back. My highest weight was 272 and right now I am at 269 at 5'' 8' tall. My question is about the different size bands. I know that they are using a 10cc band now and I was wondering if that effects the speed of weight loss or increases problems people have with the band? Why did the change band sizes? My ex sister in law had it done 3yrs ago with the 4cc band and has lost 100 lbs. Some of the post I have read seem like it is a slow start with the weight loss. I feel comfortable with my decission and the process. This is just the one thing that has been on my mind and I dont see the surgeon untill Sept 6th. Any input?????
