Thanks you guys! Janet, I think once your happy with yourself, no matter how much you have lost, the whole journey finally feels worth it! Keep it up, your doing GREAT! Copa, congrats on your surgery date! I was there less then 6 months ago and couldn’t be more excited to start my new life. you wont regret it i promise! Sandra, thanks so much for the nice comments! I couldn’t do it without the support I get from this page! It really means a lot! At your highest you feel at your all time low, but ever pound you loose from there is just making you feel better and better each day! The only thing I want from this surgery is to feel better about myself, no matter if im 10 lbs down or 100. Again, thanks!

Weird i got on here today, I’m at my half way mark.. my weight loss is starting to slow down a little bit, but im finally comfortable to post some really really bad pics of myself at my highest because I can actually see the change. I am feeling really good about myself, I’ve been saying, if I don’t loose another pound, I will be totally happy. Every pound I loose from here is going to be bonus. I finally feel really good about myself. This is the first time in my life that I can actually say that. Its amazing what weight loss can do to your self-esteem. When I was at my smallest (about 200) I would always feel so self-conscious. Being as high as I’ve gotten, being at 225 is a dream come true. My confidence is sky high! This is the best part about the Lapland! I am also noticing how much people actually consume in one sitting.. like non-overweight people. Its crazy! I also am noticing how much I used to eat. I was riding with my friend who stopped at Arby’s the other day and I looked at the menu. I used to get the biggest combo and an order of cheesy potato bites on top of that, and I could eat more after that! That part trips me out the most. Just thought I would let people know how it feels to be at your half mark point. It is truly AMAZING!!!!!
  3. I bought this scale from Bed Bath & Beyond that tells you the values of your water weight, bone weight, muscle mass, and lbs of fat. It was really expensive ($100) but worth every penny. I can actually see where my weight is being distributed. I lost 4lbs of fat, but gained 2 lb of muscle last week. hope that helps..
  4. Good job Jon! You are such an inspiration! And I am totally down for the DFW meet & greet!
  5. YAY!! Im excited for you! Im one week $ one day postop and couldnt be happier! So far, its the best decision I've ever made. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row, you'll be surprised how fast your date will arive!!!
  6. im glad someone posted this. im actually drinking a black coffee right now, but im one week and one day postop. noone said anything about coffee, just pop. after reading some of the posts, im going to wait a month. i dont want anything to harm me or my band!!!
  7. hey! i was banded on monday, and i am having exactly the same pains. i get the spontanious hiccups as well. my pain is on my left side tho, not in the center, but it is hard to breathe, and i often loose my breath. i am sure its just from the gas they put into you during surgery. i am not worried about it, but it might be a good thing you got some xrays done, just in case. hope this makes you feel better
  8. My taste buds have done a 180 and this is just with water and clear liquids. i cant imagine how food is going to taste again!!
  9. ok so as of today i am down 10lbs for my first week of optifast!!! I am soooo happy! it was only hard until day 3, then it didnt bother me. i absolutely hate the soups, so i am only drinking the shakes. i am suppose to drink 5 a day, but i am only drinking 2-3 because i have to gag them down. i know i should drink all of them, its really hard tho. my goal for the second week of the liquid diet is to drink 4-5 a day. i also started building a house this weekend, so i think the physical exercise def helped my weight loss
  10. I didn't order from Canada, but I did order from Dallas, TX. It was like $60 for overnight shipping.
  11. So I sent in all my paperwork about 1 week ago. My surgery office's nurse said everything looked very 'nice'. There is one thing I am very worried about: The nurse gave me 6 sheets for my primary doctor to fill out, one for each month. This included my blood pressure, weight and diet plan for each month. I asked the nurse about my letter of medical necessary my primary doctor was suppose to write, and she said that my doctor didn't need to write one. I said I would get one just in case, but the nurse said Cigna will not even look at it, and not to waste my doctors time. I did what the nurse said, but now I'm EXTREMELY nervous!!!! Anyone have a similar situation and get approved?
  12. Thanks guys! This all is very helpful! I will keep you all in touch on how I'm doing. I can't believe its only 2 days away...
  13. Thanks about the 'number 2' info LOL! I graduate in May, but my lease isn't up until the end of July. So somewhere between May and July but I don't have an exact date yet. I'm really excited and can't wait to get out of Mississippi! I'm a big city girl for sure!
  14. Hey guys! I am about to start the Optifast 2 week diet on Monday! I am super nervous/excited! For those of you who used the Optifast diet, how much did you loose in the 2 weeks? Also, did you work out as well? Thanks
  15. hey everyone! My doc submitted my paperwork to cigna on thursday, feb 18! I called yesterday and the rep said they have not even scanned anything into the system yet (which means they haven't even looked at it yet). I am super stressed because i live in Mississippi but i'm having the surgery done in Dallas, TX on March 15 because that is my spring break. My doc and I thought a month would be long enough to get approved. I have a flight leaving March 14, and my grandma is flying in to take care of me. They better get my stuff into the computer soon! I am going to call every single day until i am approved. I have no worries about actually getting approved, i just hope they hurry up and get it done so i can start my life over!
  16. My date is for March 15!!!! It's unreal that it is almost here. I cant wait to start my life over.
  17. OH, and if anyone else has knows of any other vlogs, I would love to hear them.
  18. Hey guys. I don’t know if anyone has talked about this yet, but there are very inspirational vlogs on youtube. One in particular is skymoon1982 (put her name in search and go to her page to see all the videos). She has been posting a video every week since she got her lapband, and she has over 100 videos now. She gives great tips and got to her goal weight within 7 months. I get so excited every week to see her latest video. She is a great motivator so you should check it out:thumbup:. *I don't think she'll mind me posting this since she said the reason she does the videos is to educate other bandsters
  19. Hey everyone. I was just telling someone about my "trial liquid diet" and thought I would share: I attempted to do a “trial” liquid diet this week to see how hard it is going to be. It is super tough. On Monday I only drank 3 protein shakes and worked out for an hour. I felt so weak when I got home I gave up and ordered a pizza (guess it didn’t go too well). But I am happy I tried it because I learned a lot from it. I think the problem I had was going from roughly 2500 calories down to 600 in one day (I’m having “last meal syndrome”) & I think my body freaked out. After that unpleasant experience, I decided to start eating a lot less to get ready for the pre-op diet. I now replace my breakfast and lunch with protein shakes and have a small piece of chicken for dinner, along with rice and corn. I’m counting my calories and eating about 900-1,000 calories a day and I'm also working out for an hour everyday. The first day was hard, but this is day 3 and its going a lot easier. Also, I lost 4lbs. So anyways, I super recommend you try a “trial” liquid diet before you have to start the pre-op diet. I will be so mad if I have to change my surgery date because I couldn’t follow the diet. For my liquid diet, my doctor wants me to go on optifast for the 2 weeks before the surgery, and just protein shakes 2 weeks after the surgery. The optifast is expensive; it’s like $175 for 2 weeks.
