1. You both are inspirations! We should just leave it at that!! =) JC--How did this happen to your stomach? Or do you know? I remember it twisted but thats all! YOU will make it through this! You are very strong!
2. I love Starbucks egg salad sandwich. I can't wait until my mushies start in 1.5 weeks and can buy it and blend it up!!
3. I've lost 2 pounds in 4 days does this seem about right?
4. Hey guys! I was banded on the 7th and I get burpy very easily. How is the burping going with you guys? Also, lower back pain has plagued me! Anyone have either of these going on? I keep telling myself that it is probably gas still left in me????
5. I am right there with you Alexandra! I was hooked on swimming but now I am a week out of surg. so it will be a little while until I get back in. Laps never appealed to me either. However, I read this book and the girl was ashamed of how much she weighed and went swimming every night so noone would see her and the weight started to melt off. She would go back and forth ,back and forth... Anyways, thats how I got on my kick and get wait to make it back! The book is quite entertaining, Night Swimming , is the name of it!
6. There are sooo many of us! Yay! I can't believe I am almost a week out of surg!
7. Yes, 3/4 sleeves are perfect! Also, I loved whenever the capri came back!! Many of the large waisted capris will come to my ankle , therefore, I am able to wear them to school. I will be so glad that the clothes that are made for short people will fit again!! It seems like we always have to lose twice as much as taller people before anyone can tell there is a difference! lol
8. Talented people are on here!!
9. Feeling pretty good! Alot better than I thought I would! Gas is the worst but stay on your feet as much as you can! Sleep on the heating pad for the gas too! Sutures weren't as bad as the gas!
10. If you are short, you know , that we carry and lose weight differently than people of "normal" stature!! Therefore, I figured a thread dealing with short people would be good. Seems like it takes longer to notice weight loss but only a milli second to notice when we gain weight!! I am 5'. Yip, that's it just straight up 5 feet! Calling all you "Shortie Porties!":D
11. Since we are all newbies, I figured a place to talk how much we lose and problems we are having would be good. I am crazy ecstatic to see that I have lost 2 pounds since surg. on Tues. Yay!:clap2:
12. Denise- You are in a hard situation. It is hard to take care of elderly parents. My mother has to do that for two elderly parents. As far as I am concerned, the people that do it, do it well, and are truly saints. JC--Thinking about you all morning. Let us know. LeO--I am so jealous of you moving to NYC. I have always wanted to live there even if just for a brief time. There is NO other city quite the same. Live it up woman! Might not be the time to have a boyfriend!! lol Derb-Whats going on with you? Me--I had to get on here and tell you guys. That I gained three pounds of gas with the surg. However, since Tues. I have lost that gas weight plus two of my own pounds! So, I am on my way the first two pounds adiosed! yay!
13. Hey Peeps! I am so excited!! You know, after you have surg. you gain a few pounds of gassy gas. Well, today is the first day that I have lost that gas weight plus two more of my own pounds!! So excited, just wanted to share my first two with you guys!
14. Ola! h-fan-- Make sure that you get the Slim Fast Low Carb. The regular and Optima are loaded with sugar. The low carb has 4 carbs, of which one is sugar, and 20g's of Protein. Also, the Optima and regular only have 10 g's of protein. Another few ideas on clear liquid-- juice out of canned veggies cook ramen noodles, strain them, and eat the liquid Hope this might help!
15. Rhonda-I was done on the 7th at Vista, is this where you were too?
16. LeO-I love your wrist idea. Absolutely, love it! I might have to copy that one. I have three tatts. Before you get one, know that they are addicting and make sure they mean something to you. Which of course that one does!! So happy for you, take everything easy. JC--Chicken Tortilla Soup from Boston Market blended to heck is really yummy too! How tall are all of you? I'm wondering how my heigth , or lack of it, will play into this whole thing. I am exacto 5 feeto!
17. Indeed, going to try to switch that addiction to something positive. Before the surgery I was totally enjoying swimming then sauna-ing at the health club. I think this is looking good BUTwhat to do while watching TV.....knitting/crocheting ...heck I don't know!
18.
OK--I am here to tell you that the heating pad does absolute wonders for the gas pain. This morning, my sore throat is gone (from the breathing tube), gas pain is relieving itself (gas x, Milk Of Mag because I don't think this is a great time to become const. which I am a lot), and tummy is sore. Tummy soreness=not painful like cramps just like what it is cuts and just sore. I have had cramps that have made me cry before and Iam not crying with these so I think it is a doable pain. Like, it is totally going to be worth what we are doing this for =)

Judi--2 days chicka!!

Band--Hang in there! You sound like you are doing very good on the liquids.

How long does everyone have to be on liquids after their surg? Me =2 wks.

19. Hey Guys! This is going to be real short!! lol Gas=a little Pain=a little I am hoping for a good day tomorrow, however, luck usually doesn't play on my side! Hope you are all doing OK! Denise-I think this thread is great! Welcome WElcome Donna! JC hang in there just a few more days!! Is the shake thing or the inactive thing bothering you most?? You are such an active guy! Everyone! As soon as I get to feeling better to stay on this thing for a couple of hours I will start checking on Singles Cruises for next year. I know they book fast and early. So, I will start looking here in the next week.
20. Got home from surg. hours ago. Sore=a little Gas=a little. Not too bad, so I know tomorrow I might be paying!! Hope not....
21. I think it's called ....Why Men Love Bitches.....something to that effect and there is a follow up book too.
22. So, have any of you thought about what you are going to do when you want to put that food into your mouth? That was a good ? I have always been an emotional eater...however, I think my emotions will level out as I lose weight and feel better with confidence......??? Seriously, I might take up knitting/crocheting!! crossword puzzles...hmmm.....
23. Mare, you a great list maker! Thanks! I check into the hosp. around 4 today. Surg. is tomorrow at 730.
24. =) Dr. Davidson in Dallas. I am excited but a little nervous about the after pain...agh! Prayer said!
