  1. Go Mandi Go. Here are my good vibes :peace: :peace: :flame: :flame: :bump2: :bump2: :D :D
  2. Mandi, I know several people who have quit smoking on Zyban. As far as depression, I have some close family members that deal with clinical depression and sometimes you may have to try different medications to find out which one works best for you. I do know that some medications such as Paxil and Effexor can be difficult to come off of (A fact not always divulged) Good luck and let us know how you make out
  3. Green, good luck with your fill. My first fill was Oct. 5th and I just scheduled my second fill for Oct. 19th.
  4. Cloe, you have it all wrong it is the Dr that is after me!!! LOL
  5. OK so I replied to a post I found from Gabi. Let's see if we can get it going
  6. Neenagh, you will see. You will go for your first fill and it will work (lucky you). It will prove who's heart he really wants.
  7. LOL Well Cloe, at least you are having days that are good. I feel I can almost eat anything I want any day.
  8. Glad you're going home for Christmas Mandi. You'll have to give us all the details about your exes jaw. The one that's going to fall to the floor when he sees you.
  9. I looks pretty empty as of yet.
  10. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement but I think I have it figured out. I will call it Wheezy's Anatomy. Dr McMumford is really in love with me and he actually didn't fill my band at all in the hope that I would return soon so that he can get another glimpse of my perfectly rounded abdomen and my voluptuous everything. He secretly loves the scar he gave me while it puckers when I laugh. I'm on to him!!!! I will have to break it to him though that I have my very own Mr McWheezy at home. I hope he takes well. :unlove:
  11. Your welcome Neenagh About my fill, I don't think that it worked. I don't feel anymore restricted than before the fill. I'm a little discouraged but I will do whatever it takes. If it means I make the trek back to Mississauga in the next few weeks then that's just what I have to do. I am an impatient person and I want the weight to start coming off again. I have not loss any weight in the last 7 weeks, in fact I gained 2 lbs. I was hoping for a better result. Is there anyone else here that did not feel any difference after their first fill?
  12. Thanks Mandi, I'm registered, I'm Wheezy again. I see that you are mandi and I also see neenagh. This sounds like romper room lol Dr C. and Dr Lista are also registered, I'm curious to see if they will post and answer questions.
  13. Mandi you are right about Dr Mumford. I will clarify about the Dr in Ottawa thing. I did get the impression that Dr M. wanted to be responsible for my care. It seemed more like a father's demand (caring) rather than arrogance. The thing that surprised me was that it seemed I could make an appointment and get a fill in Ottawa without the clinics involvement. The receptionist was ready to make an appointment for me. I wonder if they would have contacted the clinic on my behalf because let's face it, if I had not gone to the clinic for my first fill, I wouldn't have even known that the clinic must know about it let alone OK it? About the food, Dr. M said to eat approx 3/4 cups of food and yes he said to visualize it squashed. He actually said to try it so that I would have an idea what it would look like on my plate. Now here's the part I forgot to mention. He said to stop at 3/4 cups and wait a while because the brain doesn't always register that the stomach is full right away. Then if I am still hungry I could eat a little more. The band should prevent being hungry after eating the 3/4 cup. As well as weight loss this should be another guide to know whether or not another fill is needed. Sorry if I mislead anyone :straight
  14. Size 18 Mandi, that's great Woohoo!!!!. I can't believe you were still wearing the 22s and bigger. It's a wonder that your pants haven't fallen down in public. Whatever you do, DO NOT CUT YOUR OWN HAIR!!! Speaking from experience you could end up with something worse. Your hair sounds nice (framing your face) leave it alone. I do know what you mean about being assertive with hair stylist, it's really hard to do. I've found that you need to find one you trust and stick with him/her.
  15. See message below, I goofed.
  16. When I asked Dr Mumford about getting my fills in Ottawa, he said "They do not touch you unless they get the OK from us" I found that strange because when I called the Dr. in Ottawa to see if I could get a fill there, there was no mention of getting approval from the clinic in Mississauga. The only reason I decided to go to Mississauga because the Dr. from Ottawa couldn't see me until the end of October. I wonder what would have happened if I would have gone to Ottawa? Isn't all too weird???
  17. The nurse (I still can't remember her name) said that they don't really expect any weight loss until after the first fill. Dr. Mumford said nothing about my weight loss. He did give me a lecture about how much I should be eating, 3/4 of a cup full, no more, so I've been very conscious about it. He told me to wait 3 weeks and give the clinic a call to tell them how I'm doing. About the 1cc, I really don't know, I didn't ask if everyone starts out with that amount, but judging by the others here I would say it's pretty standard.
  18. ---50 lbs----- Congratulations Yoda :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  19. Angel, I had a fill 2 days ago. The needle really doesn't hurt, really!
  20. OK I'll try to be patient. Thanks for the advice.
  21. Sorry to hear about Mr Yoda's Dad hopes he feels better soon.
  22. Thanks Cloe, I hope so too. Well I had 3 meals today, I did feel a little bit more restriction but I expected more. I hear most people feel a lot of restriction right after the fill and them it loosens a bit. I hope that doesn't happen with me because I think I will be back for another fill soon. How did you all feel after your first fill?
  23. Dawn, 113 lbs, congratulations and in only 6 months. Yeah, please tell us how you did it.
  24. So I had my first fill, 1cc in a 4cc band. I thought I had a 10cc band but as Dr Mumford pointed out it is a 10 cm band that contains 4ccs. Next time I read something that small, I better put my glasses on!! It took several pokes to get it in. Boy, what a weird feeling, we could actually hear (and I could feel) the needle hitting the side of the port before he hit the spot. He pointed out that the part he has to hit is actually quite small and my port is very deep . He said that the port being deep is a good thing because as I lose weight, I probably will never have the port visible. (That's a polite way of saying Holy Cow you are still so fat!!) He always points out the positive side of things like when my stomach swelled after surgery, he said that it was a good thing because of this I should be able to find my sweet spot easier. I hope he's right because having a fill isn't all that bad but the combination of being 12 hours in the car and a 4 inch needle stuck in your abdomen is not exactly something I want to go through often. As for the nurse (I forget her name) she seem very reserved, she's nice enough but it's just not the same in that office. Maria was so friendly, I only met her twice but I still felt a kinship with her. I don't feel any different except that my belly is a little tender after the pokes but I really haven't tested it yet. I had a scrambled egg when I got home last night and that was fine. I asked my sister on the long drive home yesterday if I looked any thinner yet and she said yes. LOL
