  1. I just had this same conversation with my surgeon today. I was banded 10/23/09 and had my post-op appt today, I lost 8lbs since surgery. Which my dr said was terrific. I have my next appt Dec 7th and when I asked if I would possibly get a fill then, he said maybe but maybe not. If I lose another 8lbs by then, he'll leave it alone and then see the next time. He said the highest weight loss in their practice (like 300lbs) never had a fill, so it really isn't something he will commit to until they see a reason it becomes necessary, like not losing weight due to plateuing, or no restriction, gaining weight... Good Luck on this wonderful Journey! I am looking forward to mine. Peace~Love~Happiness
  2. I'm right there with you, I was banded 10/23 and was supposed to be on full liquids for 2 weeks but started the mushies on day 10, as I was starving and the liquids just seemed to be sliding down like nothing. Since I have started the mushies a little Protein and a little either mushy veggies or fruit, it is helping me. I see the dr. on Friday for my post-op, nervouse to tell him I started the mushies early but almost fell better that I can tell him now that I feel fine eating food, but have little to no restriction. Hope I don't have to wait too long for my first fill.

  4. I am scheduled for surgery on Oct 23rd. Can I ask what insurance companies you all have. My surgeons office said my insurance United Healthcare will take approx 5 weeks to give approval. I think I should be covered since my BMI is 62 and have done the 6 mths of medically supervised diet counseling, my BMI was 65 or 66 when I started. I also have sleep apnea, but I am still nervous that I will have to go through appeals. Any thoughts?:seeya:
