Does everyone really eat proteins first
I have to agree with NY dad and the others...For someone to respond with such harshness.....even when they haven't "walked in their shoes yet" is pretty ridiculous. That "responder" hasn't even experienced half of the phases yet to come. I was banded in April 2010 and have lost 45-50 pounds (depending on which starting weight I go by). Have I learned a lot? ABSOLUTELY....I have I been perfect....NO WAY....Do I need reminders, support, or guidance...ABSOLUTELY...do I feel like I know "everything" about nutrition, lap band, or this process....No way. And Neither does Naytap...(she just doesn't realize that yet) Do I always eat Protein first....Nope....should I? Probably.....It depends on the meal, my hunger...etc... I have had several fills, and I hope to get another one today. It's completely normal to want to get to that point of restriction as soon as you can....we will all get there...eventually...It is so hard to wait! Please don't let 1 bad apple in the bunch discourage you. This is a wonderful place for support...guidance, and a a little club of sorts. You are doing great...and I can't wait to follow your successes! Both on the scale and off!

UGH....need to find my groove...holidays are over
Hi all! I haven't posted in ages...I have de-railed! Been eating holiday junk....and not having a care in the world...Drinking many "drinks" and having a blast....I turned 40 on Christmas Day.....(yah, yah, yah...blah blah blah !).......and now...I am afraid to even step on the scale! I sooooo need to get to the gym...move....sweat....and I feel like I need to drink some Protein drinks for like 2 weeks! Sort of a post holiday de-tox! LOL... Anyone else feel the same way? How did that happen?

Hey guys! Call the office to verify that it is tonight. For some reason, I remember Phyllis saying something about it being on the 15th this month. I don't know why I am flashing on this...but double check. CRAPPY night to get all the way down there if there is no meeting! ~holly

Hi everyone! Jennifer it was nice seeing you again tonight. I feel better when I go to the support group meetings! Hope to see a few "new faces" on the thread too. Where the heck is everyone these days? Had Dr. R give me my fill today and man that hurt like hell! What's up with that? He did confirm that I had 6 cc's in there, and he agreed to give me .5 more. Maybe this will do the trick!

Hey Jennifer! I am actually going in for a fill this afternoon at 3:45! I forgot tonight was the meeting night! I might be able to swing it. It's at 6pm right? I don't know if I am at my sweet spot...I am hoping this fill today will do the trick. One can only hope! I might see you there tonight! Holly

thanks for the reply, tiny!...I guess I was thinking the same thing....damn, maybe I sprung a leak! Haha. I guess I shouldn't fuss about the actual number but how tight it feels. This last fill, last Monday...I have noticed a nice considerable difference. I am def. tighter..specially in the morning...and get fuller, sooner. I need to be thankful for that! I am wondering if this is the sweet spot or will the next fill do the trick. I guess only time will tell! Did anyone make the support group meeting last week? I couldn't....kids are too needy these days!

Since the scale isn't movin'....here's a NSV!
Ok....so my scale seems to love the number it is on...won't let go of it....So I decided to post 2 non scale victories I have had this week....(work with me people! 1. I got on size 14 pants this week....this was my goal for fall...they are too tight to wear in public but I got them up and buttoned them! 2. I ran for 30 minutes straight on the treadmill yesterday....this seemed impossible to do even a month ago... Now please, mr. scale....start moving! WTH?

Brigham and Women/Faulker Hospital
Hey there! Need a little advice/reality check here. So, has anyone had Rachel as PA for Dr. Robinson? I went in yesterday for a fill. So this was my 4th fill...I was soooooo looking forward to it because I have been at a flippin STANDSTILL on the scale for far to long. I know my weightloss will be slower than most be come on man! So at my last fill I should have been up to 6cc. She pulls out the fluid and says....you aren't at 6...more like almost 5! Ummmm, that should have been my fill in JULY! So she gives me 1 more and writes in my chart "between 5 and 6 cc". I don't know what to think about this? Does fluid like evaporate? Shouldn't I have been at 6 and getting to 7 yesterday? I am definitely not at the sweet spot people talk about. I have some restriction but can def. eat more at a sitting than I should with the band. It's a little early to see if this amount will help or not. It is the morning after and I am "tight"....er.....we shall see. What do you all think? Is that weird? Should I call and get some clarification? ANyone have Rachel before? hmmmmm..I seriously don't want to wait yet another month to get a fill that I already had in August (amount wise)....kwim? ~Holly

Brigham and Women/Faulker Hospital
Hello everyone. Hope this finds everyone doing well. I just wanted to let you all know that I don't think I will be able to make it on Monday. Mommy guilt.....kids are exhausted after school and have been falling apart by dinner time. Think I need to stick around the house to help out with the madness. Things are going "ok"...I get another fill on Monday and I am hoping to be closer to that illusive sweetspot. I joined a gym and that has been going well....Just got over my first tummy bug with the band in....yuck, yuck, major yuck. Thankfully, it was short lived. But I think I will ask Dr. R about having some anti nausea meds on hand for the "next time." Will he give me some? Anyway....check in when you all can...it has been quiet around here!

When are you due????
ugh....isn't that the worst? I have had people ask or insinuate that I was pregnant....I replied like you..."not preggers....just fat." I work in a preschool and I have had KIDS ask me "when is your baby coming out". Ahhh, isn't that lovely....out of the mouthes of babes. I had the wind sucked out of mys sails this morning as well....so bummed....had one of those feeling "thinner" moments and thought all of my working out must be doing some good...stepped on the scale only to see that I gained 2 pounds....really????? That's just grand....blah
