  2. Hello, My name is Angela. I am 37 years old and just beginning my Lap Band Journey. Hopefully I get to finish it. My insurance has an exclusion on anything weight loss NO EXCEPTIONS... They wouldn't even cover my Diabetes Nutritional Counseling. I am 140 (at least) pounds overweight. My BMI is 51. I have asthma, GERD, Type2 diabetes, and NAFLD. I am hoping to find a way to pay for this as I need it drastically. So Hopefully, Maybe....... I live in PA and my surgeon is Dr. Kim Marley. of Windber, Pa. He came highly recommended by my family Dr. I have attended the seminar and submitted all of my paperwork. Now at a stand still. Do not understand my insurance. My last hospital stay cost them over 12,000 I have no copay or deductible. Not to mention what they are paying for my medications and durable medical equipment.:w00t: I am losing time unpaid from work my asthma and GERD are out of control yet again. Most likely looking at another increase in meds. Hope to meet and get to know lots of other bandees. Angie
