  1. Thanks Bettina and Lisah25, my mask is called ultra mirage II nasal mask. After seeing Bettina's I think I want that one its so tiny and it looks like it does'nt put all that pressure on your face like mine does.
  2. I just picked up my cpap on Frinday and I hate it!!! I can not sleep with it. It hurts my nose and feels like the preassure is to high. I called the company and they said to use the humidifier and that my setting is only at 7 and they can not go much lower. I hope I can get used to it, I have my surgery next Thursday and my doc wants me to be used to it by then.
  3. My insurance only required the psych eval. and dietician consult, but my surgeon required sleep study, ekg, egd, pulmonary function test, lab work and chest x-ray. I am glad these test were in place - I now know I have sleep apnea and the egd revealed that I have an inflamed esophagus and stomach (which I am now treating). I say test away especially if insurance covers it. In the long run it can only benefit you!! Good Luck!!

Hi I am a newbi here to this sight and I was just wondering if most people are required to get a psych eval before wls? After lurking here for a few weeks Im thinking that these evals. must not be required or maybe they are a new thing, just curious:paranoid I found the bickering b.s. amusing at first but, it realy has not helped with my concerns for wls and now it feels more like a "nut house". Anyway I do go to other threads, but guess what more drama there too.
  5. :laser: Well it August 14 and i just started this process about a month ago and i have already completed most of my testing, next week its egd and dietician counceling. I think after this is all done i might have a date set sometime the end of Sept. I am realy scared i hope i have asked all the right questions and that this is the right thing to do. One minute i am on cloud nine the next im stuffing my mouth with junk and wondering just how is this going to work. I know the band shrinks the stomach, but what shrinks the mental part of all of this???:hungry:
