  1. I had my band on Aug.14th. I was in pain for the first 3 days. Wished I could have taken home the morphine drip meds. But after the first week it gets better. I still get pain in the port site but I think it is just the healing process. Now adding in some mushy foods is exciting really. I have not had a hard time yet with any foods. Everyone is different and it all just takes time. Good luck

    I'm new here but have comment about this. I was put on a soft diet pre-op for 1 week. My bmi was 42 and my surgery was on Aug. 14th, 09. Now I am progressing to some solid foods and those not so delicious protein drinks. But whatever works is what I'll do.
