  1. Hello! I am going to be banded in 6 days and I am trying to decide what my Christmas weight loss goal should (could) be. Can all you banded tell me how much you all lost the first 2 months after surgery??
  2. My band, I am having my surgery at UCSD (University of California San Diego) how about you? And how old are your kids? I have a 4 year old son.
  3. I am not sure how much fat is in the noodles but I would imajine some of it gets into the broth? or am I wrong? Nutrition Facts Top Ramen Serving Size 1 serving (42.0 g) Amount Per Serving Calories 190 Calories from Fat 65 % Daily Value* Total Fat 7.2g 11% Saturated Fat 3.2g 16% Polyunsaturated Fat 0.4g Monounsaturated Fat 2.7g Cholesterol 0mg 0% Sodium 487mg 20% Total Carbohydrates 27.5g 9% Protein 3.9g Vitamin A 0%•Vitamin C 0%Calcium 0%•Iron 10%* Based on a 2000 calorie diet
  4. The broth that I am alowed to have on my pre op diet is just cube broth, one cube and add water. I do believe the ramen has lots of fat so you might want to check the packet? Not sure but that was my first thought and my Dr. told me no fat ... that is what they are after to reduce liver size. Anyway....I am on day 15 of my diet and am sick of it as well. 7 days to go before I get banded and I am still nervous, anxious, and still question my choice to do this but also feel like it's my only chance to finally loose the rest of the weight and hopefully for good. I want to be healthy for myself and my family!
  5. What u tube video? I have a yound son and all he does is eat...I am a stay at home Mom so its super hard cooking for my family right now. Family dinner is the hardest part of my day. I have been on this diet for 2 weeks already (yes this is my 3rd) and have lot 10 pounds so it's good. Hard but good.
  6. Hello! My surgery is next Wednesday too! I'll be diet buddies with you! I am on straight liquids! And you?
  7. Here is my typical pre op diet day. 8am Protein shake 120 cal 25g protein Water 12noon iceopure 160 cal 40g protein 3pm Protein Shake 120 cal 25g protein 6pm yogurt 90 cal 5g protein 8pm 2 cups Jello pudding I save the jello for last because it's soooo satisfying!
  8. OK I am home. The procedure was as bad as I thought and I cried through the whole thing ... I did not throw up though so I was happy about that. Tomorrow is my blood work and baruim swallow. today is day 13 of liquids only 8 more to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I need to vent, it's been a bad start. It started at 5am when my 4 year old jumped on our bed. "It's Morning time Mommy and Daddy!" I havent slept well the past 2 nights and my period just started. I am so nervous about my Manometry today I want to throw up. Has anyone else had to do this prior to surgery?? ESOPHAGEAL MANOMETRY is a test that provides information regarding the muscle function of the upper and lower esophageal sphincters as well as peristalsis, or movement of food bolus. It provides information on the resting tone of the sphincters, how they relax, whether or not they relax appropriately and also about the peristaltic activity of the body. But basically they stick a tube up your nose and down to your tummy. I know I will gag and throw up.
  10. I am a SAHM so I will get 0 days off! I have surgery on a Wedesday and I think my Mom will spend Wed and Thurs nights with me, then my darling hubbie gets the weekend shift!
  11. Ps....you have to cut and paste it into your signature, then it will show ip
  12. Kim...you are down 18lb since surgery! Awesome job!
  13. I would have loved to have our insurance cover this, but in order to do that I would have had to gain enough to get my BMI over 45 NO WAY! My insurance company are CHEEP! Then after that would have had to do the 6 month program on Weight Watchers AND attend 2 meetings a week AND my husband would have had to attend 2 meetings a week. So many hoops! So am am self pay but still happy about my decision.
  14. Hollywood and I are about the same. I have to do 3 weeks liquid. Less than 1,000 cal a day ... 2 protein shakes ... one yogurt ... one serving of fat free jello pudding ... sugar free popsicles ... and clear broth. And ya, its hard to get to 1,000 on that I am on day 7 now and have gotten about 500 to 700 calories a day but I have also lost 10 pounds
  15. What a great thread, it's nice to read about people who are around 200 and still going for it! It makes me feel so much better. I have lots of wishy washy feelings at times. Am I doing the right thing? I lost a lot on my own, why cant I just do the rest on my own too? My problem is that I can loose it but then I wind up gaining it back.
  16. I am scheduled for surgery on 10-21 and now weigh 219 and am 5"9 I get it all the time but I have a bad history of weight gain and loss and would like to be at 150 or 160 and just stay. I am hoping my band will help me MAINTAIN!
  17. Ahhh I'd KILL for a salad. I am on day 7 of a 3 week liquid ONLY diet.
  18. OK now I am getting so nervous that I am second guessing myself. I have all my pre op appointments next Monday and Tuesday so this is the point of no return for me. HELP why do I feel like this????
  19. Wll you now have plenty of time to get better before the 28th .... how long do you have to do the liquid diet? My husband will have to do it again too....he was scheduled last week but they canceled him due to a bloodwork result that showed he might be getting sick....he still has not gotten sick. Its a bummer.
  20. Mommyof1 how sick are you? flu? cold? what a bummer I am so sorry. I am a Mommy of one too! A little boy, he's 4 how about you?
  21. Hey all! I lost another 2 pounds! so excited!
  22. I am 100% self pay ... the bill's a zinger!
  23. I feel your pain too! I am on day 6 of my liquid diet. I have to do it 3 full weeks before surgery. The first 3 days were the hardest, I agree with another post I think you need more protein and less sugar, I bet that will help your head.
