  1. 10/28/09 - still pending insurance approval
  2. I thought carbonated drinks was a no-no with the lap-band....
  3. Finally, the first day is done. I had another Optifast serving when I got home. Afterward, I had a low sodium chicken broth and a small can of diet dr. pepper with headache. I feel a lot better and I didn't feel hungry at all this morning. We'll see later today.
  4. I am on my first day of my two week Optifast Protein Diet and it has been a real challenge. I have had my 5 servings already for day I haven't had dinner yet. I feel like hungry but I don't have hunger pains. I think it's all in my head. Really looking forward to going home and relaxing. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.
  5. October 28th. Hopefully I can get ins. approval sooner I would like to move it up to the 14th.
  6. I want to be able to fly in a plane and not feel bad for the person next to me. The person usually sitting next to me is my daughter, she's small so she can spare the space. I spoke to my daughter today and I asked her "if she would love her daddy fat or skinny", she said "she loves me no matter what", great answer! I love her so much, hence the reason why I'm on this journey.
  7. I have realized before that I tie my shoes with the bows on the side sometimes, I always thought it was weird when I noticed it.
  8. Welcome Dave! aka Mountain Man. I hope things start getting better for you soon. I should be starting my Protein diet next week hopefully.
  9. I'm down almost 9 lbs since I start on my journey. I must admit though, most of it was b/c I was sick last week, I think I had the flu.
  10. Hey G, I just wanted to say hang in there, what happened, happened, concentrate on rest of your pre-op diet. Take it one day at a time, or even one hour at a time. Don't get discourage. Maybe try finding a Support Group or a buddy to help through the process. Remember all journeys begin with one small step.
  11. FYI...I bought the set from Crate & Barrel. They are very nice. I can't wait to start using them.
  12. Funny you mention that, the hospital performing my surgery as a group called LifeHelp. They assist with making the appointments and follow up to make sure all of the documents are sent to the Surgeon. I have to admit this whole process was pretty seamless for me. Also, they are super nice! I give them
  13. Great News. I wanted to  to after reading your first post. Might I suggest going to a Lap Band Support Group in your area. You'll meet alot of people with alot of the issues and possibily get some insight on them. Good luck!
  14. It's test to determine if your throat has any holes or pockets. These holes/pockets can cause complications with the Lap Band.
  15. I liked them too. Also, at the bottom of the page they have the appetizer plates. Thinking about buying some of those too.
  16. I found this set online at Crate & Barrel.
  17. I'm preparing for my operation and I would to start buying some the things I will need after my Lap Band. What kind of utensils would you reccomend? Where to buy them? I am hoping to find a set of small stain steel utensils. Thanks!
  18. Just went to my first Lap Band Support Group. It was pretty awesome meeting people like in different stages of the Lap Band. It feels great knowing I'm not alone. See ya next month Group. :tt1:
  19. I am tentatively schedule for Mid October, possibly 10/12th-14th. Hopefully the 14th. I want to Celebrate my lap-band date like a birthday in the future.
  20. Dayum, that's quick, congrats!
  21. I met with the LifeHelp Coordinators. They help go through all the cost of the surgery and setup my evals for the surgery. The projected date of my surgery is 10/12-14. Getting a little nervous. :w00t:
  22. Welcome, glad to see you here! We need all the support we can get. :blushing:
  23. What does the Papaya pills do? :blushing: Luckily those are only birthday steaks so it will probably be very rare, I guess we can skip the birthday steak that comes that first year of the surgery. Honestly, this was the only piece of information I was truly bummed about. It's weird how my mind has created these crazy relationships/associations to food.
  24. I guess it shouldn't be much of a problem if you cut it in really small pieces and chew it about a thousand times.
  25. I wanted to ask the banders how has life been after no more steak? At the Lap-Band Seminar surgeon mentioned no rubbery food, such as steak, shrimp and calamari. Needless to say I'm a little bummed out about the steak. My wife and I usually get our Birthday Steaks from our local steak house I guess we will need to come up with new tradition.
