  1. Hi Everyone Havent been on for a while as been unwell but still going strong. Although loosing very slowly very happy with progress. I have lost 25lbs to date so have lost nearly half what I want to since being banded. I bought a size 12 jeans last week which was wonderful but still have a big tummy hanging over them so will keep going. Doing this really for my health as need to get into the healthy weight range and get my BMI down as I have problems with BP and Cholestorol. I have had two fills now and have 5 mls can eat a small plateful and not being sick like I have been in the past, so think I will hold off for another fill until I stop loosing. I am happy with about 1/2 to 1lb per week as if it goes off slowly it wont come back on too fast!! if ever..... It is hard work but worth it, I would never say a Gastric Band is the easy option but it does support me and I am glad I have one. There is light at the end of the tunnel as I have lost it all once before but it went back on and more... Keep up the hardwork everyone its nearly tankini time...... Too old for a bikini!!
  2. Hi Danyett How you feeling your weight loss is great well done! I just tried to eat a roast dinner with my husband been feeling sick all afternoon!! That will teach me Thats three of us on the 16th October yes time does seem to go quickly x:tt2:
  3. Hi Wisteria. I am your banding buddy as I was also banded on 16th October 2009 in Belgium! I have had a few setbacks myself and have lost 19 lbs. I had a hiccup over Christmas and it took me a while to get back into it. Had my second fill at end of Jan and now have 5 mls in the band. Good Luck with your band, it is hard work but I am glad I have it! x:thumbup:
  4. Hi Aghealty thanks for the encouragement, seem to have been much better since my fill on Friday and have lost the 1kg hanging around from Christmas already which is great! Feeling much better and yest it does help with motivation having the fill. Thanks agaiin
  5. Hi Everyone Thanks for your kind words and motivation, I was a bit down last time I posted. I agree with you all and I wouldnt be without my band either. With or without the band I always loose weight slowly, I am over 50 and also I have arthritis so cant exercise very much so that does help. Went to doctor yesterday and had my second fill so now I have 5 mls in total and fill much more restriction so sure things will get moving well again now, at least I feel much more motivate after reading everyones posts. Keep up the great work its nice to read posts and join in from fellow Bandsters who were all done around the same time, although it isnt good to compare. Thanks again everyone for your help:thumbup:
  6. Hi October Bandsters, Can believe with so many of you out there none of you are posting? Or are you a bit dissapointed like me? I have gone off the rails due to Christmas and cant seem to get back on, is anyone else having the same problems? Perhaps we can helps one another get back on track. I am having a fill at the end of the week, as I have only had one so far and I am really hoping this will sort me out..... HELP!!:wink:
  7. Hi Tina I hope your feeling better you have had a tough time getting banded. No it isnt easy but I suppose we are the right side of the scales now, at least going down all be it slowly!! lol..... It took me years to put on mine so as long as it comes off I have got to the stage where I dont mind if its not overnight. I dont know where everyone has gone, they must all be working hard and not finding it easy like us.. Come all you October Bandsters lets get back on and share our thoughts and support one another. No-one said it would be easy XX
  8. Hi Redbone Let me know how you do as I am still struggling and I am not sure if I can make my second fill late December, but am panicking because I will mess up over Christmas if I dont have it!! I have read it takes about three days before you feel restriction so please keep us posted xx Good Luck:biggrin:
  9. Hi I was banded on 16th Oct, was doing really well, had my first fill last week which went well and didnt hurt. But I keep feeling hungry and wont get another fill till just before Christmas .... help...
  10. Hi October Bansters hope you are all doing well. I am feeling much better now but had a bit of a turn a couple of weeks ago whilst away for work. Rested up was probably doing too much and went back to work too early but much better now. Weight loss slowed down for me have only lost a pound in the last two weeks but going for my first fill next week so hopefully it will get better. Not sure whats its like anyone got a info as I am a bit scared that they wont find the port and its right under my scar which also worries me a bit!! Would you suggest I go back for another the week before Christmas or shall I wait until January as my family dont know I have a band (only my OH!!) Hope everyone is doing well, it would be great to hear from you there are a lot of us and not many messages at the moment!! :bored:
  11. Hi Wisteria We got banded on the same day!! Hope your feeling well, I am just about feeling ok now, went back to work too soon I think! I noticed you got a fill this week, my first fill is booked for 27th Nov, can you let me know how much difference it makes as I can eat now, not lots but enough and I wondered how the first fill makes a difference? Any thoughts would be good. Thanks for your help:thumbup:
  12. Thanks for this sorry I havent got back to you, have been a bit unwell but better now. Drinking lots of water and getting my fibre in!! LOL....

  14. Hi October Bandsters Wonder if anyone can give me advice, never had much gas pain, but did have gas! Been banded two weeks and was healing well and sleeping ok. Twisted yesterday when getting into car and now in really bad pain on left hand side under breast, not sure if port is there, port scar ok though, but dissolvable stitch came out yesterday when twisted. Not sure if its port, stitches coming out on the inside or constipation. Has anyone else had this? Not seeing doctor until end of November flying away for work tomorrow for three days I am a bit worried?? HELP........:scared2:
  15. Hi I am a bit worried too. I was banded on 16th October in another country and do not see my surgeon until my first fill at end of November.
