  1. I was banded August 14 by Dr. Enochs and I've been fairly well pleased with how everything has come out.

    Mushy Ideas....

So how much do you all puree this stuff...tuna, chicken salad, etc.? Is it liquidy at all?
  3. I can generally lie on my back for a bit, but spend most of my time laying on my right side, opposite the port/incision. (I had a single incision surgery and it's just to the left of middle.) How soon before you all felt comfortable enough to lay on port side? Just banded on the 14th. Thanks!
  4. Hi all. Banded on the 14th. I'm like you guys and have the gurgles and all that. Right now, I'm getting by on popsicles, some jello and Crystal Light and I'm doing ok. I'm going to get the Isopure stuff that Merlina mentioned. My doc mentioned it to. The protein will be nice to have. The area around my incision is a little red, so I may have an infection. Big call to the dr. tomorrow. Just setting my sights one day and one week at a time. Friday, I should be able to go to full liquids and that will help. Then the next step and so on. I'm not even stepping on a scale for a while. Just want to focus on the band and eating and such. Hang in there everyone!
  5. Congrats on your banding and SIL! I just got banded this morning. SIL as well. Feeling ok, a little gas/bloating. Takes a long time to pee, which isn't something I expected. Definitely wiped out though. Congrats again!
  6. I was told to start a mostly protein/low carb diet 2 weeks before and then all liquids the day before the surgery. I may have lost a pound or two so far, but I haven't exactly lowered my carb intake either...
  7. Thanks, all, for your help and advice. Much appreciated!
  8. And I take it that when it comes back up, it comes all the way back up and is really messy?
  9. I think you've definitely got to tell him. There's so much to understand and go through that he'll find out anyway. I would be upset if my wife didn't tell me of the type of surgery she was going to have. Besides, how would explain PBs or sliming or only being able to eat have liquids for a month. Do yourself a favor and tell him...even if things aren't great between the two of you right now.
  10. Surgery is August 14th. Pre-Op appointment tomorrow. Getting a little fidgety about it all, but I'll be ok.
  11. So everything I've read, or heard from my dr., says that you REALLY don't want to vomit, but it sounds like a PB is the same as vomiting. Am I wrong? Can anyone clarify? I'm getting banded next Friday...
