  1. I just had my first fill today! YAY!!! I am feeling really sick and want to take some tylenol, but was told that I needed to be on an all liquid diet. Can I take some tylenol or should I just wait till tomorrow?
  2. I just started law school and I have a backpack that is pretty heavy. I just had surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago. I got a rolling backpack as to not lift much weight. However there are stairs that unavoidably I have to lift my backpack up. I have been trying my best to roll my backpack up the stairs without straining too much. The other day while doing this I felt fine, but the next day I had a small lump under my port. I was concerned so I called my patient facilitator and she told me not to worry that as long as my incisions weren't red or leaking and I wasn't spiking a fever not to worry about it. Well, I had to do this again today and now that I am home the lump under my port is bigger and that side of my stomach is extended out. Did I do serious damage? What should I do? I am starting to regret this decision to get the surgery before I went back to school. :w00t:
  3. I just went and got banded last Tuesday in Mexico by myself. It was awesome though because I was with a group of people that got it done and they took me under their wing. I was given two days in a hotel after surgery to recover, but ultimately even if I didn't have that group of people there I am quite confident I woud have been fine. I would not worry too much about travelling alone and getting it done.
  4. Hey everybody, I am 23 years old and have scheduled my surgery for August 11th. It's like a week and a half away. I am totally starting to freak out. I am going in by myself and have only told 3 of my friends that I am going. Not to mention I am actually moving down to California right before the surgery so I am not going to know anyone there. I was told that I would be able to care for myself after the surgery. I am starting law school in 2 weeks and that was probably my biggest motivation to get the lap band. I want to be successful and I want to look great while doing it and I am really tired of hating my body. I feel like I am rambling, but yea I am just really scared. Anyone have any words of wisdom for me? Oh and if you guys don't mind answering a couple of questions for me. I was told that I could not lift more than 10 pounds after surgery. How long does that restriction last? I hear law school books are pretty heavy and I have purchased a rolling back pack so I will not worry about carrying them for awhile, but I would like to be able to eventually carry them. Also I was told that after surgery it is best to avoid steak and chicken......any opinions on that??? Okay I am done rambling. I just am looking for some advice and support. Thanks for listening or I guess reading...
