  1. I just came across this forum -- it looks like an excellent place to meet other bandsters and share information. I'm 42 years old and after a lifetime of fighting with my weight (yes, I was the poster child for almost every diet that went around) I finally decided that weight loss surgery was the route for me to take. After investigating, I picked the lapband as the best option for me. I went to my first consultation weighing in at my all time high of 352. A month before surgery I started to cut back some and two weeks before went into a pre-op diet to shrink my liver size. I was banded on July 14, and am currently enjoying the full Fluid phase. Let me tell you, after a couple weeks pre-op diet and then a week of clear fluids, tomato Soup tasted like heaven. I'm really excited about my weight loss so far (down 35 pounds) and looking forward to continuing on my journey.
