    No protein?

I was given Isopure in recovery at the hospital. I had to drink a certain amount before they would let me leave. It all depends on your dr. I'm not a big fan of the Isopure but it's better then the protein shakes. Isopure has 40 grams of protein so I try to drink at least one a day. The blue raspberry and orange-banana-pineapple are the best ones.
  2. The nutritionist has been banded for 3 years. But really, a bite the size of a pea? Is that even realistic? Maybe in the beginning, but once you get used to what you can handle, I'm sure that may change. It's probably just a guideline for those that aren't sure. I can tell you that I won't be living off of bites the size of peas for the rest of my life. Ericka
  3. I had my nutrition class the other night and was told that the bites should be the size of a green pea. I knew that the bites had to be small, but I was really surprised when she said the size of a pea. I don't even know if you can chew, chew, chew a bite that small. Of course, I'm going to do it, but it just seems like such a small bite. I'm also the type that takes big bites and doesn't really chew as much as I should and then wash it down with a drink. I will have to start practicing chewing the pea size bites so that I know what I'm in for. Also the not drinking while eating will be a challenge as well. However this is a challenge that I'm very ready for. Ericka
  4. I found out last night that my pre-op diet consists of 1 day of clear liquids. I feel very lucky that I only have to do 1 day. Especially after reading some of the posts on here that some people have to do 2 or 3 week pre-op diets. Ericka
  5. Hi gatorgirl. Thanks for the encouraging words. I am not on a pre-op diet as of yet. I just got the surgery date yesterday and I have the nutrition class tonight. Hopefully I'll find out tonight what I need to do for the pre-op diet (if anything). I was surprised to see how many people in this thread are having surgery on the 17th. I think that is really cool. We'll have to keep in touch with updates. Ericka
  6. Add me to the list of being banded on 9/17! I just found out yesterday and am going through alternating bouts of complete happiness to complete nervousness. It seems like I was waiting all summer for this date and now all of a sudden it's here and it's next week. I'm really looking forward to a new life. Good luck everyone! Ericka
  7. Not shying away from pics because I'm too embarrassed. Being able to wear shorts. Wearing cute clothes. Being more active and doing more activites. Not being a fat auntie to my nephew. Having guys look my direction and what the heck how about a bf! Wearing a swimsuit and going to the beach. Not feeling like I'm the fattest person that just walked into the room. I want to go rafting without sinking the raft!
