  1. Heidsz, The answer is absolutely! I was banded last July 9th. Since then I have lost 72lb and only 38lbs to goal. For me is has been as simple as follow the rules, do what the docs ask of you, and it works. It is not a magical cure. You can eat "around" the band, ie ice cream, chips, candy bars, are all still easy to eat. If you will eat normal foods and and not graze you WILL lose weight. You will need to eventually increase your physical activity. If will do this you will be sucessful. Take control of your own future weight loss and good luck!
  2. Isn't that the truth!! I'm in the fifth day of my pre-op diet (on the 4th of July, in Branson, Mo, with the extended family, aaaggrrrr) doing great and excited about surgery on July 9. Hope it goes well for me as well. Never had surgery of any kind. Pretty nervous bout that. Oh well I'll keep my fingers crossed and let you know how it goes. Lotsa luck to all!!!
