  1. I am going for my first appointment this week on Thurs. I wish I could go right to real food but I have to do 4 weeks of mushies. Oh well it will be better than the liquids I am on now. I am having a hard time with the Tylenol. I think it tastes too syrupy and it makes me gag. I don't know what kind of pain meds to take except the pill form. Do any of you guys have a problem with taking your pills and if you do what do you do?
  2. Anita is Dr. McCarty is as good looking in person as he is in his picture. I tried to get him but I got Barnes instead.
  3. Anita, who was your doctor? I got banded at Baylor in Fort Worth. My doctor was Dr. Barnes. I hope you are doing well and losing weight. Beth
  4. Hey guys I have a couple of questions for ya. Do you have problems taking your pills? I did once and was in pain for about 30 minutes. NOt good. And, what kind of frozen yogurt is out there that we can have? I have never seen any except Braums. I hope all the July 21 banders are doing well tonight. I remember my first night. Hand in there. It does get better. Beth
  5. I was banded on JUly 12th. Can I join the group? My only problems is pain at the port site and backaches. I am also not crazy about the protein drinks either. I am on liquids until next Wed. then I go to a soft diet. Yeah. I hope to get to know some of you and become good buddies. God bless. Beth
  6. Hey Mr. Yo I was banded on the same day as you. I am having a hard time feeling full. I think it is because I am on liquids such as: SFpudding, SFjello, mash potatoes, Malto-meal, soup. Nothing really feels me up. How are you doing with your eating? Are you having any other problems? I think it is cool that we had ours on the same day. Beth
  7. Hi I just had my surgery on the 12th. I would love to hear from anyone else from FOrt Worth who got banded or is going to get it. I went to Baylor Medical Center SOuthwest for my surgery. Doctor was Dr. Barnes. (A very busy man) I hope to find some bandbuddies. Beth
  8. Hey I am new and had by surgery last week. Good luck Yellowrose. I am looking for buddies who are just starting out so keep us posted on your progress. I will try to help if I can. I am only 1 week ahead of you. I'm in Fort Worth. Beth
  9. I am new too. I had my surgery on the 12th. It seems like a long time ago. I had some pain but now it is mostly in my back and port site. I do feel hungry sometimes but I hope that is from just eating liquids. I think I am eating too much but I hope I won't when I can eat soft foods. I am from Fort Worth, Texas. My doctor's name was Dr. Barnes. I hope to get to know more of you guys and maybe become buddies. Beth
  10. My name is Beth and I had my lap-band surgery last week. I just discovered this site today and I am so excited. I love support groups. I am experiencing pain still at my port site and in my back. I have already experieced bad pain in my stoma and I hate the protein drinks. I also don't feel very full yet and am hungry all the time. I am told that it does get better when I can eat soft foods. I am on liquids right now. I hope that someone out there that would like to be my buddie. I don't know how this forum works but I am sure that I can figure it out. Beth
