  1. OMG I was in the shower this morning and saw my toes and thought what are those things in the bottom of the shower. I bought a peddal bike for the first time in 20 years and am riding. Able to sit in a booth at a restaurant without having to move the table back. Heal spur not hurting everytime I walk. So much energy am cleaning areas in the house would never thought of cleaning before. Just a few and hardly wait for more to come my way:thumbup:

Hi Joan: I am still waiting for my fill - July 22. I am starting to eat a little more and have started on the solids. I notice I am not loosing as much as I was. I can hardly wait for the fill. Did you feel the effects of the fill right away or did it take some time?
  4. When I had my surgery I think I only took an extra strenght tylenol once. The rest of the time I didn't really have any pain. Also, I never got nauseous at all, but I told the dr. that I get sick when I wake up usually and they put the right drugs in so that I wouldn't get sick and I never did. I had my surgery at 11:30 am and was back at my hotel at 6:30 pm and only tired but not sick.

Hi Christy: I was so busy typing, I forgot to answer your question! So far I have lost 21kb or 45lbs. I feel that I am starting to come to a halt on the losing though. It seem a little slower so I have to quit watching the scale and exercise more. I started going to the gym 3 time a week this week. I will probably go 4 times next week. I notice that I am stiff after the gym and I never use to get stiff after the gym before. Where were you banded? How was your experience at the hospital?

Hi Christy: I think that would be great!! How is it going for you so far?
  7. Hi Debbie: I was banded on June 8, 2009 and am so glad that I did it. I had to pay for the procedure as well and had some of the same conserns as you, but what got me throught the jitters is that I would rather be alive in 10 years than dead from my weight. The money became a small price to pay. I hope this helps in some way.

Hi bandgal50: Are you looking forward to getting the fill? I will be getting my first fill on July 22 and am kind of nervous about what will happen at the fill and how the food will go down after that. I am finding it a little easier to eat now that it was last week, so am looking forward to some restriction.

I only have one daughter who is 8 will be 9 in Sept. She is a handful at times. I can't imagine having two at my age. At least she keeps me busy and keeps my mind off food most of the time. We just moved from Saskatoon, a bigger city, to Warman, a small town, and she loves it. I like it too as she goes out and play now instead of watching tv. Hope to get to know you better.
  10. Hi Sheila: I am so glad to hear that it was nothing!! I have had some food stick for awhile, and it is not a very nice feeling. I found if I get up and walk around it goes down a little better.

Hi Sheila: That is great! Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? Are you finding it a little difficult getting around on the site? I find it a bit frustrating sometimes, but once I get more time on the site I am sure it will become easier. Have a good day!

Hi Devana. I will be getting my fills here in Saskatoon. Dr. Amson made up a disc for me to bring back so that a doctor here could watch it and do my fills here. I get my first fill on July 22 and can hardly wait. I am losing weight but and finding it a little easier to eat than it was at first and am scared that I will start eating more. So far I have lost appox 45lbs in the first month. I hope it continues, but now I have to stop weighing myself every day and maybe do it once a week.

    Dr. Amson in Victoria

I was banded by Dr. Amson on June 8, 2009. My gp actually check around to find out who the best doctor is that is doing lapbanding and was told he was one of the best. My gp set up my first appt with Dr. Amson, I had to wait appox. 5 mo. to get in for my first and only consult with Dr. Amson. I had that in November and was banded in June. He wants to make sure that you are going to be a good candidate. As he says the band is only a tool and you are the one that has to do the work. He requires you to start exercising and watching what you are eating. I really think he is an excellent surgeon and would recommend him to anyone. So far since I was banded I have lost 21kg or 46lbs. I will get my first fill on July 22 here in Saskatoon as Dr. Amson sent a disc back with me on how to do the fills so that my gp can do the fills. My gp actually wants me to go to another surgeon here to do the fills and has set that up for me. I am so glad I waited to go to Dr. Amson because both my gp and myself are very happy with the results so far. Hope this helps.

Hi Devana, I was banded on June 8th in Victoria, BC by Dr. Amson. Where abouts are you located? I lived in Fairmont Hot Springs from the time I was 12 years old until I was 20. Then I moved to Saskatoon and have been here every since. My brother still lives in Canal Flats, BC. Pam
