  1. yep ! Was there yesterday as well, because between the gas and the horrible nausea I was in total tears and thought I was doing damage to the band. But after the esopogram the nurse said I was fine and that it would all go away. Sent me home with some childrens liquid motrin and told me to walk and walk and walk and drink tea. then said see you in 4 weeks !!!
  2. OMG This has got to be the funniest shit ever !!!!! ROTFL !!! i had to wait to cathc my breath before typing !! hey Jen, I guess it was a good thing we didn't know about this before hand huh ?? OMG and yours being taped...AH ha ha..sorry but this is just tooooo funny !!!!! thank god i was out cold and had no clue !! it's a good think I made a trip to the waxer the day before but God, do they have to do ??/!!!! AH man this thread has made my day !!!! Thanks sunshine !!!!
  3. BethfromVA, I hear you and the core of your advice is sound but I just wish you went about delivering your message in a more constructive way. Insults and accusations never get the job done and having had a weight problem all your life, which is why You got the band I hope you remeber that all those times you wer lectured and screamed at about your weight it didnt help you !!! yes I understand that you're just trying to shock some sense into what potential harm she can cause and I hope that Patty realizes that she shouldnt do that, but we have created a very caring bonded community here and while we would more than LOVE to have the expertise and experience that you bring, please...please remember that words can hurt very much and that what you respond to sometimes might not work for everyone and I can tell you that in our community here it wont work and hope you can respect that just like in the respectful manner that I am communicating to you.
  4. Hey ladies I posted my story from today but I was having alot of these same issues. The gas was horrible but I found that if i help it along by squatting it motivated it too come out ( LOL!!) For the nausea I found that these motion sickness wristbands are a GOD send...OMG !! I feel sooo much better that Im actually sitting up nice and tall writing this. You can get this wrist bands at any drugstore, i got them at CVS, they're like $10. I also started the liquid children's motrin every 3 hours which seems to also be working quite good especially with the port pain !! Hope this helps girls !! Through it all, it'll be worth it ( especially as I prance around in my bathing suit in hawaii next year !!!) YAY YAY !!!
  5. Hey LL, I was given Lortab which is liquid Vicodin. Its okay but I much would have perfered to go home with dome morphine ( lol!! )
  6. So today started off being a VERY rough day !! The gas pain was horrible and a started having bouts of nausea. All of a sudden my mouth would fill up with thick foul tasting saliva an would get horrible burning nauseating feeling at the center of my chest. i called the doc and they had me come in for an esophogram just to make sure there was no blockage. 3 hours later no blockage just one of the lucky few with bad swelling of the stomach. ( YAY..right !) So i was told by the nurse to try children's liquid motrin every 3 hours for 3 days and he suggested the motion sickness wrist bands to help with the nausea OMG !! It was like the heavens opened up and relief poured down !! I am feeling a trillion times better and actually wanting to drink Soup !!!! Hope everyone is doing better !! =))
  7. Patty, Ditto on what Jen says. And no you havent done any damage. There are alot of varaitions on the pre and post op diets, so unless you start sticking solids now or anything that inst very liquidy you're fine. It's not too late to do the Protein shakes so I would try to start them just becuase it will help with getting in your nutrients. I would def call your doc, not just the surgeon but your primary or whoever prescribed the SSRI and see what they can do. This is a very trying exp and there's is no shame in getting the help however it is that you can !! There is no shame in tears I've already shed my few because it is frustrating epsecially when you cant do anything about the GD gas !!!! It does get betterand it will get better and in a couple of weeks we'll all laugh at our panicking we did now.
  8. Hey there I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better ! and making some progress, baby steps but we'll get there together !!
  9. Hey Allison ! Just sending you some good vibes and hoping it all went well !!!
  10. Hey there bookworm..here's waitnig for you to join our band !! Best wishes !!
  11. Abbypoo!!! YAY !! Here waiting for you to join the band !!
  12. Band 75- You need to consult your doc, it shouldnt be like that. Yes it was major surgery but still, how about trying isopure instead, they're a lil pricet but it should help you out. It might be that you're not tolerating lactose also and that maybe contributing to the whole thing. But I also agree that it soundsl iek you're dehydrated. Sending u some prayer !!!
  13. Right now I have to desire to eat what so ever..damn gas, but at the hosptial they gave me some amazing chicken broth, it's kosher and made by OSEM, trying to get my hands on some more. I got to that same point with the protein shakes last week. Did try the Unjury and not bad at all, I might try to Isopure next. But I was told that the SKIM PLUS milk actually has a decent mount of protein in it so you could technically just drink the milk by itself, I think each 8oz lass has 12g.
  14. sorry my report is the same I must say ,I'm honestly still in kinda of a shock as to what I have actually done but I know that it WILL work and that we WILL be successful and WHEN we get to onederland we'll all look back at this post and say "silly girl ". I really was unprepared for the gas pain though ! The gas-x isn't working and I am very sore at my port site even with the Lortab.
  15. Ditto here. I noticed that when I use the device thingy it feels better. I wish I couldcough it up but everytime I do it feels like my stitches are gonna blow.
  16. I feel you girl...what I wouldnt give to just get it sucked out of me !!! Im not hungry at all and so uncomfortable because of the gas that all I've had today so far has been peppermint tea. I guess maybe for dinner I'll have some chicken broth.
  17. Hello ladies !! I'am done YAY !!!, I posted my experience in another post, but wanted to thank you guys---Karen & Jen you guys are my rock !!!! btw Jen, was put on the 13th floor, I said to myself great...but actually my nurses were very attentive and very liberal with the morphine which was AWESOME !!!! LOL !!
  18. mommy- Glad to hear that you're making progress !! The hard part is behind us now and losing is on its way !!
  19. Hello people ! Just checking in. I'm doing well, just have ALOT of gas and some tenderness at the incision sites. Stayed ON since I ended up getting out of recovery sooo late. Walking around a bit and sipping some peppermint tea. No hunger what's sooo ever !!!
  20. Hello all my wonderful losers !! The deed is done and I'm feeling good !!! It took a little longer then usualsince Dr. Ren had a emergency galbladder removal but my proecedure went super smooth. Have a single incision in my belly button and another tiny one between and under the girls. Ended up that I also had a small hatial hernia that she took care of !! Walking into the OR was a bit nerve wreking but the whole staff was AMAZING and my anesthesiologist was a total trip. My God everyone was right I love that Versed !!! completely amazing !!! Before I knew it I was in the recovery room waking up. My throat was very sore and I have some pain in the left shoulder and over all tenderness, but the gas is no fun at all...my God I've never wanted to fart soooo bad in my life, even in public ( LOL!). Stayed Overnight on the 13th floor ( yes Jen can u beleive that of all floors??) but luckily my nurses were very attentive and very generous with the morphine..YAY !!! :sneaky: Anyways, Im home and feeling better, the gas is moving slowly but making it's way out. The shoulder pain is gone and the tenderness is managable. Overall A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AND I CANT WAIT TO JOIN THE RANKS OF MY FAVORITE LOSERS !!! XOXOXO to all of you I couldn't have done it without you !!!:w00t:

  22. okay so I'm sitting here in the admin area waiting to be called and the wait is killing me. Not ony am I starving and thristy since I stopped all fluids last night at 9pm. But not too Mention that this just sitting around in anticipation is nerve wrecking!!!!! Good news is That I'm down another 3 lbs so my total preop loss was 14 lbs and I'm clocking in at 255 !! Yay!!! Hopefully this can get underway soon!!!
  23. Band75..it's an old addage, I know but it's one that Ive reapeated to myself over and over again during this pre-op diet and its that " nothing worhtwhile, is ever easy" and boy does this "project" prove that to be eer so true !! But IT WILL GET EASIER and IT WILL GET BETTER and girl when you fit into those jeans or that ultra sexy lingerie in a couple of months...Man you're gonna kick yourself for thinking you couldnt do this !! If it helps, what I did was have the hubby pick out the ultimate ligerie that he would die to see me in, prined it out and taped it to my closet door with a note that says " Remember the goal", did the same on the fridge except I folded the paper over and taped it so my guest don't freak out on me !! Hope it helps !!!
  24. Thanks Girls !!!! I'm a total mixed bundle of emotions but all your support is really a blessing !! I'll def let you know how things go and when I get my "sexy back" LOL !!!
  25. okay 2 1/2 hours more where I can still "eat" so I am going to enjoy a nice tall glass of Slim Plus chocolate milk and then pack my bag. GOOD LUCK TO ALL MY AUG 10TH BANDits !! i KNOW WE WILL ALL BE SOOOO HAPPY A MONTH FROM NOW !!!
