Thanks for the reply Leah, I actually have had private health insurance for just over 12 months now with AHM. However, we only have their inpatient plan (Family Hospital I think it's called) and I was just assuming that it wouldn't be covered. I'll give them a call to ask, I was thinking about maybe asking them for some help with payment anyway, given it would probably prevent a lot of health problems later that they'd have to pay for.....but I thought that was a long shot!! It's a really interesting topic though. Thanks for the replies guys, I wish you all continued success!

Thanks for that Jess. Sorry, not trying to be dumb (I emigrated from the UK about 3 years ago) and haven't had too much experience with the Medicare system. Do you mean your private insurance paid for it? Sorry, not trying to be frustrating! Just clueless really.:thumbdown:

Hi Guys. Well done to all on your success. I have a question as somebody who's considering having this surgery done. Could you give me an idea on the costs and process that I need to go through (costs are obviously more important than anything I guess!) Thanks for your help.
