  1. Good Morning, Everyone! My surgery on Tues. (28th) went like clock work, or so they say. I was the only one being banded that day at the Journey Lite of Thousand Oaks, Surgical Center. So, I had the staff at my beck and call, they were all so helpful and nice. My nurses and Dr. Billy are the best!!!! Wednesday, was my hardest day, as my calves and hip joints were killing me, all we can figure is the way I must have been laying on the table??? (Plus I'm 57 years old) But by Thur. I was starting to walk around without the help of my husband and by Fri. had no leg pain at all. My tummy is still a little sore, but the swelling is going down, and the incisions starting to itch a little, so, guess I'm healing. As for pain meds, I took one dose on Tues. after I got home, and one does on Wed., and that was it. It is so strange to me to not feel hungry all the time! I never would have believed that I would have to make myself eat, but I have because it is so hard to get any protein and calories on my liquid diet. Yesterday I was finally able to reach my goal of 40g of protein/day. Yeah!!!! I'm losing slower now than when I was on the pre-op diet, because my body is in starvation mode (I think) but that's ok, at least I'm still losing. I didn't gain anything post surgery. My highest weight was 217 (5'4"), surgery day wait was 200, current weight is 196.5!!!!!!! I have found Onederland!!!!!! And I'm never going back to the Two's again!!!!! Thank you Sandy, Bobbie, Bashful, Princess & Slpcat, for your prayers and well wishes! Take care everyone!
  2. Hi everyone, Tomorrow July 28th, is my band day, and I'm very excited about starting a new chapter. I'm really not very nervous, as I've had a few surgeries before and everything has always come out okay. I just hate the part where they wake you up in the recovery, it's like go away I'm sleeping! I found out last Thurs. that my surgeon will be taking out my gallbladder at the same time, as it is full of stones. But I said what's one more incision...:crying: Thank you all soo much for all your stories and encouragment, this website has been a God-send! I'll write more after surgery and can get to my laptop! Take care everyone! And Sbanfield if you are out there, I'll be praying for you tomorrow too!
  3. Welcome Dandygirl, Check out "Updated List of Surgery Dates" there is a few updated ones there! Good luck with your journey, this is a great place to talk with others and see that we are not alone. Take care,
  4. Welcome home!!!!! Hope you feel better real soon!
  5. Hi Sbanfield, I live in Ventura, CA, about 35 miles south of Santa Barbara. I'm so happy to have someone else going through this on the same day! I still haven't taken my before pixs yet, but when I do, I will post them. My hubs & I lived in TX for awhile when he was in the Army. But came home to CA when he was done. I went to the Nutritionist on 6/30/09 and she gave me a pre-op diet to start on (actually today) but I couldn't wait and I started it on July 3rd. I've lost 8.5 lbs already! I've started walking again at work, it was very hard the first few days, but it's getting easier. I hope to run in a Marathon with my daughter in a year or so! At least that is one of my goals...Thanks for writing back. Take care and let me know how you are doing, good or bad...we all need all the support we can get. ttys,
  6. Hi sbanfield! I'm Millie and I will be banded on Tues. the 28th also!!!! Two weeks from today, yippeeee! Have you started any pre-op diet? Are you having your surgery in Houston? Take care and let me know how you are doing. I'm so glad to have another bandster on my same day!
  7. Headin to mxico, Prayers and good thoughts are with you! Have a safe journey! Take care,
  8. Nicb1318 & Ruth, I am praying for each of you to have safe surgeries and fast & easy recoveries! Ruth, one thing I've heard on this message forum is to use baby utensils to help you keep the bites small. I'm going to try that too. (Band date 28th!) You are not alone we are all pulling for you!!!! Take care and let us know how you are doing.
  9. That is AWESOME hot tea!!!! Congratulations on the 7.9 lbs down! I'm still waiting to be banded my date is July 28th! I can hardly wait, I'm so ready to start a brand new chapter! Thanks for keeping us up to date on how you are doing. It gives those of us still waiting encouragement. Take care!
  10. I'm a very round apple too!!! Can hardly wait to be a nice healthy green bean??? Take care and let us know how you are feeling!
  11. As for normal, I've never been and have no intention of starting now lol . I want to be off my meds, I want to buy clothes in the 'ladies' rather than the 'womans' dept . I want to be proud of ME, and with the band and the support of bandsters here and my family....I will be, and so will you all! __________________ Gitrdone This reminded me of a funny story from my daughter who is a nurse. One day when we were looking for clothes, she handed me a pair of pants and said these should fit...I said no, they weren't "womens". She asked how I could tell and I said the W next to the size...she said she thought that meant "wide" not womens...(seriously) I smacked her (gently) and told her no it meant "women". We laughed and went on shopping. Soon we will go shopping again and I will have to find some pants with an "M" next to the size for "skinnyMini". (Misses) Take care my friends!
  12. Good luck tomorrow Ladies! You are all awesome! My prayers are with you! Let us know how you are, soon as you feel up to it! Lots of love,
  13. So happy to hear that your surgeries went well! I'm hoping that everyone else's has too! Thank you for the surgery day stories and after, it helps the rest of us prepare mentally for when our "days" are upon us. Careful hugs to all!
  14. Hi Fatduck, Thank you so much for the explanation! I've probably lost and gained at least 30 stones too!!! I am very excited about getting banded on the 28th! To know that I will not gain the same pounds back again is a God-send! Good luck and happy journey, may all go well for you!
  15. Hi Fatduck, Got to ask, what is 30 stones? I haven't heard the expression before. Good luck to you on your new journey! I will start mine July 28th! Take care and no more desperation stunts, ok?
