  1. SuefromMichigan, JoannMarie, KarenIn and to the rest of you inspirations, thanks for being here. I do believe if we walk this road together we will do better than we ever expected.
  2. Hello Everyone, I want to say hello and share that after 2 long years I have a surgery date of 12/17/2008. I have researched for years and have watched friends that have had gastric bypass. I truly believe this decision is personal and the more you talk about it, the more you read, go to meetings, etc. the closer you will come to knowing what is right for you. My best to all!
  3. Yvonne, The account of your LB experience has really helped me. I will start questioning my decision once I get my surgery date and reading your posts help me. I am glad to hear you feel so much better.
  4. Thank you Charlene. That helps.
  5. Hello, Were you required to provide a 6 month doctor supervised restricted diet to Aetna?
  6. Charlene K Would you please explain to me what a supervised diet is and what process you are following? I have to follow one for six months supervised by a doctor and a letter summarizing the process won't work. I would very much appreciate your guidance with this question.
  7. Diane, Don't be so hard on yourself. You have gone through a lot physically and mentally and you are done except for a few pounds. That must be a weird feeling. You sound tired. Rest up, spring is coming and that 10 lbs will be gone before you know it.
  8. Dr. Leporte and Dr. Francis are in Fountain Valley (Orange Country) and they will take patients that had their surgeries in other countries.
  9. Paula, What kind of diet pills do you take? Is it OK to take diet pills with the band?
  10. Desertmom, Can you share any information regarding the WLS surgery your cousin had? How successful she has been, etc.?
  11. CharliF761, What determines super mobidly obese? What are the stats?
  12. Thanks for the clarification, Bettina. I am new.
  13. Bettina, Thanks. Dumping does come from the other end. I think pb's only happen to lapbander's.
  14. SleepyJean, You are a funny girl. Thanks for the laugh.
  15. Do people who have RNY have PB's?
  16. Mandy, You are truly an inspiration to all!
  17. Skinnysoon, thank you for the feedback. Since I am in the beginning of the process I will certainly be on the look out for this run around. It isn't their fault your insurance wouldn't cover your surgery but the way they treated you is unacceptable.
  18. I am starting the process with Dr. LePorte. I have heard only good things about him. He performed gastric bypass on a friend of mine and she has done well. I have chosen to go to Orange Coast Medical Center. Dr. LePorte favored gastric over lap band.
  19. Hi Les, I am considering this procedure and would really appreciate your input. Was the process worse than you had expected?
