  1. I have already felt mean ness (Not here). People tell me lapbands and Surgurys are the "easy way out". but as my bestfriend told me yesterday "I have watched you for MANY YEARS struggle. If you think this is it, I stand behind you 100%".
  2. A group fill how awesome!!! Do you all just sched. times together? That is the coolest idea ever. I may have to join one day
  3. What happens tomorrow?
  4. Donna - Thanks for the welcome! I honestly am okay with no bread, I don't eat it much but when I do, it makes me feel so BLOATED!! What other kinds of foods ae not band friendly? That's something new, I assumed everything was okay in moderation. Candra - congrads on the new weight! I cannot image ever being 210. I dont remember EVER being there!!
  5. Cool! good to know! My boyfriend went to the gastric class and he came back saying NO WAY IN HECK AM I EATTING LIQUID for months lol..so apparently the class WILL scare some!! as long as they tell me the major risk and death rate LOL! How long is the class? Should I plan to miss work?
  6. Hi again - I have a "class" 7/17 @ 9 am. That's all my doctor told me was "I am putting you in the class if you want to learn about it". So I don't even know if this is orientation, a simple class, etc. This was a new Dr. and I was not very fond of her. So I have no idea what I am in for! She couldn't tell me much. But I have heard I will be there for about 4 hours??
  7. Good morning everyone!! How is everybody feeling today? What is this diet I am reading, this is for when your weight loss stops? It almost sounds like the 2 week beginning of South Beach, which I did and lost 15 lbs. Carbs are not my friend so when I cut them out I am and loose, but the minute my friend bread comes back lol I gain! darn you Panera and your breads!!! Nicole - Park Shadelands is small, so I assume the fills would take place there. I really want everything to happen @ Richmond so I don't have to miss tons of time @ work, not in my budget  Question - They told me Gastric is covered on our insurance, but is the band???
  8. Nicole - I was told even with my classes being in Walnut Creek's Shadeland office (small small place), the surgery only takes place in Richmond. It's pretty much the same as I work in Richmond but live close to Walnut Creek. LOL. I just want to get to the first inital class to really hear info, ask questions and determine if this is right for me. I have a fear of dying during surgerys, and getting put to sleep scares me as well.
  9. I have to ask, do these "fills" hurt?? I just found out what it is, and Im like hmmm...LOL... Well, I will see what happens on 7/17. I wish I could find a sooner one, but Pinole sent me to Richmond who wasnt till the end of July, Martinez was August, and Walnut Creeks is mine.....I could check Vallejo? LOL
  10. Thank you so much Reggie!! I actually called Richmond today and their next avail class was at the end of July. I kept my 7/17 class because I originally had 8/20....I guess I will have to take the day off, since mine starts @ 9 am, and 4 hrs later It would be way to late to go to work!! What type of diet is it? Is it suppose to help you loose weight before the surgery?
  11. 10% omg. I am 270, so I would have to loose 27 lbs? I have NEVER lost that much before, I wouldn't even know where to begin  I have the class July 17th. I am not even sure what it is. Can you tell me? Also, how long is it? I plan to shoot to work right after LOL I work in Richmond but the class is in Walnut Creek..... Any info would be super helpful!
  12. Hi everyone I am all over this board reading stories, and getting as much info as possible. Wondering how soon you returned to work after being banded? Is it wrong for me to assume if I have it done on say a Thurs/Fri I would be okay for work Monday morning? Also, anyone else have a wild toddler as I do? How did it go? :blushing:
  13. Hi thanks for the info everyone! Does everybody have to loose weight before the banding? I would assume you dont have to loose alot right? I cant loose weight thats why I want the band LOL
  14. Hi ! even though I use the Martinez Kaiser I assume this would happen for me @ Richmond. Can you walk me through what happens? So far all I have is a class 8/20 that my doctor enrolled me in. What is it? What happens after? Am I in for a long wait?
  15. Hi everyone!! I am thinking of getting the lap band done. My bestfriend keeps telling me to seek info on having the extra skin removed when I am done loosing weight. Is this really something I need to think about?? Does everyone have too?
  16. I dont have a doctor yet, I go through Kaiser. I have the class in Aug to explain everything, and I guess we go from there.
  17. hi everyone, question. I know with the gastric you have to loose a certain percent before having the surgery, is it the same with the band?
  18. Hi everyone my name is tamra, and i am thinking about getting the band. I am 26, and weigh 270. I have the first class "aug 20" (mtz kaiser is busy!!) and going from there....but im scared. I am scared of the risk, and scared to die from it...LOL...I am a paranoid person! Did anyone else feel freaked, or nervous? anyone else in my area? I assume Id have it done @ Richmond...
