  1. I am so sorry that you are feeling this way and not loosing the weight you so hoped for. Has your doctor talked to you about this? What does he/she say about it?
  2. If you are looking for good vitamins my doctor recommended a place online called www.bariatricadvantage.com. They sell vitamins made for lap band patients. I take two a day and they are chewable. They are also good they are watermelon flavor. They also sell a ton of other things for bariatric patients. You should check it out.
  3. Ok well now I am 4 days post op and I am feeling much better. I actually now dont need any pain killers, but I am having like chest pain. It feels like someone is sitting on my chest or its like filled with air. Is that normal??? I called my doctor to ask but no one is there anyone know?
  4. Faybie, You know I think you might have hit it on the nose. Even though I didnt think I ate a lot, I new I had a emotional attachment to food. It is funny I always tell my mom that she eats like a bird and ask her how she could live off what she eats. Well last night I saw her eat dinner and I said how could you eat that after all you have eaten today. She and I laughed about it. Just a few days out and I already have a different perspective on things.
  5. I needed someone to say something like that. I am so glad I found this website. Thanks for replying to me. Your right. Now I just need to get my head to start thinking that way.
  6. I think I am feeling like this because I thought family and friends would be more supportive. Most friends of mine keep telling me I took the lazy way out and I think it has stuck in my head now. Before surgery I said to myself this would be the best thing for me. I am not a huge eater and I try to work out. I guess after everyone has made comments to me I keep thinking I could of done better. I don't understand why lap band is looked down upon by so many people.
  7. Hi guys I am one day post-op. My stomach is killing me and it looks like a battle zone. I am so scared that I did the wrong thing. I keep telling my self if I would of ate better and worked out i would of never have gotten in this situation, and that lap band was a easy way out. I am so confused now. Am I the only one that felt like this. :help:
  8. You guys are right. I guess maybe I was looking for more of the negative than the positive. That was the only posts I was really looking at. I think just being so scared it making me feel this way. I also think I was worrying about how much things cost to much. I shouldn't put a price on my health, but that seems to be such a huge scary thing thinking of medical bills. I am going to stick with getting the procedure though. Thanks you guys. Oh also I got another question for someone. How long after your first visit with the doctor did you actually get your procedure, and would it be possible to go to work 3 days after the procedure is done?
  9. Thanks all of you for your great comments. I guess I will be sticking to my appt now. I guess I just needed some postive feedback to get me rolling. I am still scared of getting it done, but I can't wait to get to a healthier weight and maybe be able to buy clothes from a "normal" store. I am so thankful that I found this web site and found a great support system. Again thanks again all of you.
  10. Hi I am new to this site and I have been reading postings for the last 2 hours. Most comments are so negative:phanvan . I have my appt. with my doctor next week to go over the procedure. Now I am not sure if I should back out of it. Also I have two questions if anyone can answer for me. I have not seen anyone comment about how their body looks after weight loss, and has it had a negative affect on their experience, and also when you get your band filled does it cost a lot out of pocket or does your insurance pay for that also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
